"Wow, the samgyetang here was amazingly good. The soup tasted rich, healthy, and full of comforting ginseng flavour without being too overpowering. The chicken was super tender and soft, making it really satisfying and comforting to eat. You can tell the dish was prepared with care and proper slow cooking. The service from the Korean ommu was really warm and friendly too, which made the dining experience feel even more homely and welcoming. The vibe was quite nice as well — a typical cozy Korean restaurant atmosphere, simple but comfortable for a casual meal. Definitely a great spot if you are craving authentic Korean comfort food, especially samgyetang. Overall ⭐⭐⭐⭐✨ (4.5/5 stars)"

"Decent no frills Japanese food for a reasonable price. Eel was delicious and I didn’t detect any soft bones. However the eel liver in the soup was slightly bitter. Better just choose the miso soup. Chicken yakitori and meat ball (Tsukune) were grilled perfectly with charred bits. Will be back for the tempura."

We ordered their signature big shrimp with vermicelli and garlic, stir-fried smoked bamboo shoots, stir-fried cabbage, and their signature lemon tea. While the execution is authentic, the flavor profile sits heavily on the palate, leaning a bit too oily and salty for my personal preference. It is not an everyday dining option, but it serves as a highly reliable benchmark if you are craving robust, traditional Hunan flavors in the area."

"2026 February 29, Monday. We had the Minced Chicken with Eggplant - such a solid spicy sweet option to have with rice. The eggplant is the star of this dish, and the minced chicken complements it perfectly. Basil Fried Chicken was crispy fried and tender and Basil taste was not overpowering. Mango Salad was decent. Service - once they cleared our plates, very quickly the moment I had my last bite and still swallowing it, we were then asked to leave - “there is a queue outside.” Even though we still had our glasses of water, which I wanted to finish up. We paid for it after all. Something to please note with staff. Thank you."

"Here’s a polished review you can use: ⸻ Visited Haidilao Hot Pot recently and, as expected, the service was excellent. The staff were attentive, friendly, and proactive throughout the meal, which really makes the dining experience stand out. However, the soup base this time was a little underwhelming. It tasted slightly plain and lacked the depth of flavour I’ve come to expect from Haidilao. While the ingredients were fresh and the overall experience was still enjoyable, the soup didn’t quite hit the mark. Overall, still a solid place for hotpot mainly because of the top-notch service, but there’s definitely room for improvement in the soup quality."

"Candid review of my CNY Reunion lunch today 15 Feb 2026. Upon arrival our tables of 11 & 12 pax was set for two tables of 10 pax only despite reminder 2 days ago and booking made more than 2 months ago. Our 2 tables was squeezed in main dining hall w no room to move and chairs knocking other diners' chairs. Was so disappointed and expressed to staff and Manager who both insisted private room cannot fit big tables of 12 & 11pax. After two rounds of feedback Manager managed to turn around and gave us the Private Room, unsure why it was not offered to us and if it's already booked by others how could it be changed. Anyway we are so glad and truly grateful w her efforts of making the change for us. Had the $798++ menu, food quality was average. Salmon and fish skin quantity was good in Yu Sheng but salad was so little, it was only 50% amount of salad only. Lo Hei Prosperity speech was hurried, lack prosperous festive cheers . Peking Duck the menu highlight was not carved infront of us in trolley another huge disappointment, staff explained bc it's too crowded and trolley too big. Tables are cramped to the brim during CNY Festive at diners' comfort expense ~ a let down with Tunglok usual high standard and totally different from past years@ CNY Reunion dining w Tunglok too. Special gift was Nian gao 3/10, no presentation and it's just deep fried with nothing else. Katrina who served our table is double thumbs up, very efficient, polite, keeps us informed constantly, cheerful and helpful despite being busy. We are unlikely to return again anytime soon."

"Tried Tonkotsu Kazan Ramen at Novena, a well-known Japanese ramen spot famous for its “volcano-style” serving. The shop itself is quite small, with limited seating, and I was seated at the bar table. It does feel a bit cramped, especially during peak hours, but still keeps the classic ramen shop atmosphere. I ordered the Shoyu Ramen. The broth was thick, rich, and tasty, with a deep umami flavour that was satisfying without being overly salty. The volcano-style pot helps keep the ramen hot until the very last sip, which is a nice experience overall. I also took the set with gyoza and green tea, priced at around $20. The gyoza was decent but fairly standard, while the green tea was nothing special. The set was okay in terms of value. Overall, it’s a great ramen place if you’re craving a rich and flavourful bowl, especially if you enjoy thicker broths. Rating: 4/5 🍜"

"This place took over La Ristrettos, which served very good coffee. Fortunately, their coffee is good too. You know it's gonna be decent when you see a Spirit coffee machine. Also ordered a few items for lunch with family. I exorcism enjoyed the braised beef pesto pasta. Pesto was nice coated, beef was very tender and flaky, with a smoky taste. The vongole was OK, but a tad peppery, so kids beware. Avocado was very fresh on the toast. Big breakfast was decent but easily found elsewhere. Matcha latte was sweetened. Total came up to almost $90. Service was a bit curt and inflexible though. I asked if I could change the vongole pasta from linguine to something else and the answer was a flat no even after I explained that my daughter had trouble eating linguine with her braces. No reason was given. It's just pasta, there is absolutely no valid reason why you can't swap it. It's also not a kid friendly place. No high chairs, no children's cutlery. There's self service water though."

"One of the better places for quality Western cuisine at a reasonable price. The chicken chop and salmon were decent in both taste and texture. However, part of the salmon was quite fishy, which we believe was the section closer to the belly. The truffle mashed potatoes were fragrant and enjoyable as always, and the quality has been consistent across other outlets as well. The Brussels sprouts were not too oily despite being fried, and they paired well with the dressing. The cold pasta was mediocre and rather soggy, even though it was served cold. As for the baked potato, it felt more like it had been pre-cooked and reheated, as the cream and butter inside did not melt even after some time. The complimentary brioche was hard and dry. As shown in the picture, there were crumbs all around, and we ate it shortly after it was served warm. We assumed it had been reheated in a microwave, which made it dry rather than soft in texture. The staff were friendly and adjusted our seating arrangement, as some seats were directly under the spotlight, which could cause discomfort or headaches after a while. Overall, the experience was decent, especially considering the food quality and the very manageable pricing for a casual daily dining spot."

"First time here and overall it was good but a bit pricy especially their drinks. We had sandos (tamago and tonkatsu) and it was tasty but maybe we should have tried the other main dishes ie their soufflé, ochazuke or curry rice. Saw a lot of other customers ordering these. Coffee was pretty average. Maybe the Pineapple Americano would be nicer if there are more pineapple. Staff are friendly. Small cosy place, suitable for 1-4 pax. Anymore will be a bit of a tight squeeze. Near Velocity Mall, just a few mins walk."

"First time trying out this restaurant. The pasta was superb. I ate Creamy Crab Fusilli. The other dishes such as the pear salad and the tiramisu dessert were also fantastic. In addition, the service by the male staff (think he’s the boss or manager) was wonderful. We really appreciate his kindness and friendliness in serving, refilling, recommending dishes, etc. Overall, it was an awesome dining experience for me. "After all these years, I finally decided to visit this establishment. Located in United Square, it has been one of the mall's longest-standing tenants, alongside McDonald's and Cold Storage. I had always been curious about this pub, even before United Square underwent its renovation, as I would often walk past it on my way to McDonald's. Some 30 years later, I finally gave it a try—and I'm glad I did. The service was warm and attentive, the food was excellent and reasonably priced, and the ambience was spot on. The rustic bar setting, complemented by warm, dim lighting, created a cosy and inviting atmosphere. To top it all off, there was a live band performing on Saturday night, which elevated the entire dining experience. A hidden gem that has been right under my nose all these years."
