One of the better places for quality Western cuisine at a reasonable price. The chicken chop and salmon were decent in both taste and texture. However, part of the salmon was quite fishy, which we believe was the section closer to the belly. The truffle mashed potatoes were fragrant and enjoyable as always, and the quality has been consistent across other outlets as well. The Brussels sprouts were not too oily despite being fried, and they paired well with the dressing. The cold pasta was mediocre and rather soggy, even though it was served cold. As for the baked potato, it felt more like it had been pre-cooked and reheated, as the cream and butter inside did not melt even after some time. The complimentary brioche was hard and dry. As shown in the picture, there were crumbs all around, and we ate it shortly after it was served warm. We assumed it had been reheated in a microwave, which made it dry rather than soft in texture. The staff were friendly and adjusted our seating arrangement, as some seats were directly under the spotlight, which could cause discomfort or headaches after a while. Overall, the experience was decent, especially considering the food quality and the very manageable pricing for a casual daily dining spot.
Josh's Grill, I’d say slightly tastier than the likes Astons and XW, but also at a slightly higher price point. The chicken chop was grilled well, juicy and moist, though the sauces didn’t really do much to enhance the dish, it felt a bit lacklustre. Sides were alright, except for the creamed spinach, which was actually quite tasty… but at an extra $2, ouch. Fish and chips were alright too but nothing particularly memorable. All in all, still a decent place to chill out and grab a meal, just don’t go in expecting anything special.
The food portion is alot and good for a fullfilled lunch. The meat and prawn was fresh and well cooked accordingly. Overall the food and atmosphere is awesome and enjoyable with a little music. Very recommended to my friends.
Been in this restaurant for many times bcos i love their food so much! Prawn Aglio-aglio & chicken truffle creamy past are my favorites, of course the beef too (which i didnt order today). Beef ragu pasta is yummy too. Their Customer service was superb. Kudos to Novena Team!🫡
Not sure how this restaurant got 4.8 stars at 8.3k reviews. Food was so bad. Check out the hang-gree sign lmao. Had this constant beeping overhead every 5 seconds I'm really not sure what it was for but they switched it off when I asked about it. Service was prompt and attentive. Mushroom soup was made mostly of cream, no mushroom taste at all. Ice lemon tea was tannic and sweet—oversteeped. Aglio olio chicken was not bad, noodle had a plastic rubbery texture and chicken was moist. Onion rings were overcooked, the batter was bitter and oily. Mac and cheese was undercooked, hard to chew and chalky and definitely made from a premix. I spat it out. Truffle mushroom mac and cheese was perfumey and had a layer of oil coming out from it, very weird texture. Seabass skin was soggy and slimy and the meat of the fish was very dry. Brusselsprouts and fries were great. Can't believe I spent $92 for 3 pax for this kind of food.
