"Modelled after Mark Wein’s original concept Basil Pork rice store in Thailand, I have to say I was skeptical until I tried it personally. The meat is well cooked and flavorful plus the fluffy rice, crispy egg, all these made the real experience. Good job standing out in a crowded market. Now, on the flip side, the store’s service needs to improve. I had personally encountered two incidents of wrongly/badly packed orders. (e.g. ordered a double egg but received an egg white, yes you are reading this correctly, a single egg white). The other incident involved a wrong item for what I ordered (ordered beef but received chicken, the former is a costlier option). These are real bummers to what is a promising newcomer."

"Putien waterway point is one of my staples for lunch, and the food standard has remained consistent. Service is excellent as well, with easily communicated preferences for less salt on dishes. The hotplate tofu was extremely tasty and goes perfectly with rice. Luffa is light but tasty again goes well with rice. Chicken soup tastes natural and full of chicken flavor. Broiled yellow croaker has the light spiciness of huajiao and seared garlic/shallots. Highly recommended."

"I had dinner at Sanook Kitchen - Waterway Point recently and it really surprised me in a good way. Even though I’ve walked past it many times at Waterway Point, this was one of the few times I actually sat down for a proper meal there. Ended up wondering why I didn’t come earlier. We started with the tom yum seafood soup. The moment it arrived, the aroma already very strong in the best way. You can immediately smell the lemongrass and that spicy kick. First sip and confirm wake you up. It had a good balance of sour and spicy, not the kind that just burns for the sake of burning. The seafood was fresh, especially the prawns, which were firm and sweet. The mushrooms and other ingredients soaked up the broth nicely, so every spoonful was packed with flavour. It felt hearty but not too heavy. Their pad thai was another solid dish. The noodles were cooked just right, not soggy, still got bite. The sauce coated everything evenly, giving that slightly sweet and tangy taste that makes pad thai so addictive. There was a good mix of egg, tofu, beansprouts and peanuts, so the texture was on point. I liked that it wasn’t overly oily. Sometimes pad thai can feel a bit jelak halfway through, but this one was quite balanced, so we finished the whole plate without struggling. We also ordered the green curry with rice. That one was super fragrant. The curry had a creamy consistency, rich with coconut milk but still carrying that signature Thai spice. The chicken pieces were tender and absorbed the curry well. Pour the gravy over hot white rice and it was honestly very comforting. Slightly spicy, but manageable, and the flavours felt quite authentic. One thing I appreciate about Sanook Kitchen is that the pricing is quite reasonable for a mall restaurant. Portions are decent, and the quality is consistent. Good place for a casual family dinner or even a quick weekday meal after work. Service was efficient too. The staff were polite and quite prompt when taking orders. Food didn’t take too long to arrive even though it was dinner time and quite crowded. They were attentive when refilling water and clearing plates, which made the whole experience smooth and comfortable. Overall, dining at Sanook Kitchen at Waterway Point was a very satisfying experience. The food had strong flavours, generous portions, and didn’t feel compromised. If you’re around Punggol and craving Thai food that is affordable and reliable, this is definitely a safe choice. I know I’ll be back again when the tom yum craving comes back."

"Ajumma used to be our favourite place for Jjangmyeon, and we’d happily queue no matter how long the wait was. So we were quite excited today when we arrived at 5.30pm and found there was no queue. Unfortunately, the food was a disappointment. The Jjangmyeon arrived extremely watery, with what looked like 4–5 scoops worth of excess noodle water sitting in the bowl. I requested a replacement, and the service staff agreed that it was too watery. However, when the dish was returned, it seemed that they had simply poured away the excess water rather than preparing a fresh bowl. The sauce was already diluted and lacked the rich flavour we used to enjoy. The other two dishes we ordered were acceptable, but we could still notice a difference compared to previous visits. Even my 7-year-old son, who usually enjoys the black noodles, commented that “it’s not nice anymore.” It’s disappointing to see the standard of the food change at this outlet. We have always been loyal customers and hope this was just an off day rather than the new normal."

"18/5/26 at 1pm - Rainy weather =>hot meal 🤗 My order of fish pork porridge took 10mins to be ready. The estimated timing was helpful as I went to buy my coffee and “chope” a seat! 👍piping hot bowl of Cantonese gooey congee 👍spring onion & fried shallots already included, so I just added some pepper 👍sliced Batang fish was fresh 😬Only 4 slices of fish detected! 😬minced pork was embedded in the porridge so I cannot tell the quantity but didn’t seem to be a lot! 😬yu tiao was the crispy super thick type but not overly oily. Not the healthiest version! 👎my bowl was placed on a tray with wet stains and that was a huge turn off😱 Immediately I took my bowl out of tray and returned the tray! sliced fish porridge $5.50 + minced pork $1.30 Total $6.80 Conclusion: Porridge was very hearty with a decent amount of protein to make it a filling meal. But at $6.80, there are many lunch options that give better value especially on good weather days. 📍Note - this bowl of porridge contained 1,800mg of sodium (per HPB website). The daily recommended limit for adult is 2,000mg."

"Excellent dining experience. This place has always been full since it opens. Was fortunately and also we were really early for dinner this evening. Although the menu is similar across the branches, the food here seems a tad better. Maybe we were earlier or it could also be because food move faster when business is brisk. We ordered the drunken herbal chicken soup, the tofu with vegetables, a crispy sweet and sour pork, San Lou fried Bee Hoon and vegetable cooked with three style of eggs. These dishes are all tasty and we cleaned up the plates for all. The soup was refreshing. The service was prompt, thoughtful and swift. This is especially important with elderly customers. We brought our mum who is 90 years old here and we feel comfortable having her dine here. Overall the dining experience was good. And slightly above our expectation. 👍🏻👏🏻"

"Excellent zichar restaurant at Waterway Point. Had dinner here with family on a Wednesday evening. It was crowded but we managed to get seats. Ordered a fried rice, bee hoon (obviously), broccoli, fried chicken wings, and sweet and sour pork. Everything was good. Service was awesome as well. Ambience is decent. The only thing negative is that we felt quite thirsty after dinner, so there's probably a bit of msg in the food."

"We were warmly welcomed by the team, especially Miss Nancy and Miss Tui, who kept checking in on us and ensuring that we enjoyed our meal. Their attentive service made us feel very well taken care of. The crab was fresh and delicious — we’ll definitely be back to try the chilli crab next time. The fish was also fresh and flavourful, and we especially loved the sauce. The asparagus with scallops was another standout dish. The pork ribs were tasty, though we felt they could be slightly less saucy. One small suggestion would be to make the seating arrangement a little more spacious by using smaller chairs, as the dining area felt somewhat tight. We also noticed that when another table ordered the whole chicken, the waitress performed a special chicken dance, which certainly added an interesting touch to the dining experience. 😬 Overall, we loved the experience. This has become our go-to restaurant for celebrations, and we always look forward to returning."

"My favourite place at Punggol oasis. What a hidden gem. The sourdough bread is amazing, very soft and fluffy. I particularly enjoy their handmade sourdough pastas - really very tasty and very qq. Truffle fries is good. Bread is good. Fizz drinks are self made and good too. Only issue prob is the price - it’s rather expensive."

"Was not expecting to have such delicious and incredibly cooked seafood tucked in the corner of a prawning place but I’m so glad I found it. If you’re a lover of pepper crab, this is the ultimate one to try. Sweet & firm crab meat slathered in the almost-ridiculous peppery sauce. The white pepper prawns — simply one of a kind in Singapore, and the cleanest I’ve ever tasted. Even the stir-fried cabbage was delicious & flavourful; don’t be fooled by its plain-looking exterior. Service was also extremely friendly, proactive, and quick! Will definitely be back to try the other dishes."

"I genuinely don’t understand how this place has a 4.5 rating, those reviews are completely misleading. If I had the option, I wouldn’t even give it less than 1 star. The ramen came with rancid lard, and the stale oil smell was overpowering and disgusting. The soup was bland, flat, and served lukewarm, not even hot. The noodles were tough and unpleasant to chew. The chicken wings were overly salty with zero aroma or flavor. The grilled item was barely edible and absolutely not worth the price. Every dollar spent here was a waste. Strongly NOT recommended."

"Went to House of Seafood White Bee Hoon 2 weeks ago with my family for dinner. Overall, it was a pretty average meal, nothing bad but nothing really stood out either. We ordered quite a few dishes to share. The cereal chicken was okay, slightly on the average side, nothing too memorable. The highlight for us was the crab since it was on promotion at $40. The crab was fresh and tasted good, so no complaints there. We also had a fish dish which was decent, fresh and no fishy smell, so that was a plus. The qing long cai (vegetables) was quite standard, just your usual stir-fried greens. Of course, we had to try their signature white bee hoon. It was not bad, quite comparable to other well-known white bee hoon places if you know what I mean. Comforting and decent but not something I would specifically travel for. Service was alright and the place itself is spacious, good for family dinners with a nice seaside vibe at Punggol Settlement. Overall, it was a decent and average dining experience. If you're in the area and craving seafood or white bee hoon, it’s a reasonable option, but I wouldn’t say it’s a must-visit."
