"Came here to celebrate our wedding anniversary over lunch for a family of 4 (2+2). The restaurant is very well designed. Comfortable sofa seats and tables were large so we never ran out of space despite the numerous number of dishes We had the 1 for 1 lunch set. The steak frites was well worth the additional charge. We had the octopus and potato salad for starters. Also ordered the onion soup and mushroom pasta. My kid said the mac'n cheese off the kid's menu was the best he's had (he's sort of a mac'n cheese connosior). Finished off with chocolate desserts. Serving sizes are generous, I skipped dinner. Service is excellent! Very good value and felt like every dish was prepared with love. Thank you Chef! We will definitely be back to taste the rest of the menu."

"We visited Le Noir with fairly high expectations, mainly because of its location, but overall I found the experience somewhat underwhelming. The service was friendly and attentive throughout the evening, and I have no complaints about the staff at all. The restaurant is nicely located along the waterfront promenade, which creates a pleasant atmosphere and is probably one of its biggest selling points. The menu, however, did not strike me as particularly special. We started with oysters, which were good, followed by fried crab, which was decent but not especially memorable. For dessert we had ice cream, which was fine but again nothing out of the ordinary. The wine list was probably the biggest disappointment for me. Most of the wines are familiar European labels that can easily be found in supermarkets back home. I tried the Italian Chardonnay first, which I did not enjoy, and then switched to the Pinot Grigio, which was also rather average. To be fair, importing and offering excellent wines at reasonable prices in Singapore is probably not easy. Still, if you are a wine lover from the Netherlands or Europe, don’t expect anything particularly special from the wine selection. Overall, the food was not bad, but neither was it exceptional. The quality was comparable to that of an average mid-range restaurant in the Netherlands: perfectly acceptable, but not memorable. In short, Le Noir is worth visiting for its waterfront location and atmosphere. If your main reason for going is the food and wine, there are probably better options elsewhere in Singapore."

"I had such a lovely dining experience at White Bird Scramble. This 7-course French omakase is incredibly good value, especially considering the quality, creativity, and execution of each dish. What I really enjoyed is how every course has its own name, which made the meal feel like a thoughtful journey rather than just a sequence of dishes. We were welcomed with a complimentary milk curd tempura that was light, crispy, and gently sweet, such a nice way to start. Standout courses for me included the giant scallop with cauliflower and bacon, which tasted clean and naturally sweet, and the red prawn tempura, a beautiful Vietnamese–Japanese fusion with delicate flavours and a memorable crispy rice-paper element. The zucchini “pasta” with poached egg and black truffle was playful yet well balanced, and the Nordic black halibut was cooked perfectly, paired with a rich but smooth beurre blanc. Desserts were equally impressive. The savoury-leaning frozen dessert with nori and tomato was unexpectedly refreshing, and the final chocolate brownie with miso crème toffee was rich without being overwhelming, a very satisfying finish. Service was attentive and friendly, and I appreciated that the menu changes every few months, which gives me a good reason to return. For anyone looking for a refined yet approachable omakase experience in the CBD, this is definitely a place worth bookmarking."

"Had lunch at Hopscotch @ Capitol and enjoyed the experience overall. The food was good, with the lunch sets offering decent variety and value. We tried the Barramundi Fish & Chips, Duck Confit, Sticky Pork Ribs, Cereal Prawn Burger, and Cereal Chicken Bites. The Wild Forest Mushroom Soup was a nice starter, and the portions were satisfying Service was prompt and efficient, with dishes arriving in reasonable time. The restaurant also has a pleasant and relaxed atmosphere within the Capitol Kempinski arcade The main drawback is that the set meals feel like the default choice, with standalone options being less compelling from a value perspective"

"A huge shout-out to Ken and Wei for making our evening truly memorable. From the moment we stepped in, the service was warm, attentive, and absolutely top-notch. It’s been a long time since I’ve experienced such exceptional hospitality. The food was a feast for both the eyes and the palate. Every dish was beautifully presented with incredible attention to detail—like an art piece on the plate. The flavors were perfectly balanced, and the creativity behind each course left us impressed. If you’re looking for a dining experience that combines outstanding service with exquisite cuisine, this is the place to be. Highly recommended, and I’ll definitely be back!"

"Finally made it to Aniba and now I understand why people keep talking about it. The whole fish was probably my favorite dish of the night. Perfectly cooked, packed with herbs, and one of those plates that everyone keeps reaching for. The hummus was incredibly smooth, the kubaneh bread was impossible to stop eating, and the cauliflower roll brought the crunch. The dumplings were also a pleasant surprise. A special shoutout to Dharma (hope I'm spelling that correctly), who looked after our table. He was great at guiding us through the menu, making recommendations, and helping us decide what to order. Those suggestions definitely made the experience better. What I enjoyed most about Aniba was that every dish felt meant for sharing. Lots of interesting flavors, generous portions, and the kind of meal that gets people talking about what they're ordering next."

"I visited this restaurant to celebrate my partner’s birthday and made a reservation in advance. Unfortunately, while the atmosphere and interior were beautiful, the overall dining experience was extremely disappointing. I ordered the steak based on the photos online and the positive reviews. What arrived looked nothing like what was advertised. The steak was incredibly thin, and I highly doubt it was the stated 250g portion. For a dish costing almost $40, the quality and portion size were nowhere near acceptable. It felt misleading and definitely not worth the price. We also ordered a pasta dish that was highly recommended by the waiter, who assured us it was worth trying. Unfortunately, it tasted more like hokkien mee with a slight drizzle of truffle oil. The truffle flavour was barely noticeable, and the dish was far from what I would expect from a restaurant positioning itself as upscale. The service was equally disappointing. Despite having a reservation for a special occasion, we were initially brought to sit at the bar counter. The area in front of us was cluttered with miscellaneous items and hadn’t even been properly cleared. At the same time, I could see multiple empty tables available. When I asked if we could be seated at one of those tables, I was told they were reserved for other guests. That response left me speechless because I had also made a reservation. It made no sense why other reservations seemed to take priority over ours. Only after I questioned this a second time did the waiter return and tell us they could clear a table for us. First impressions matter, especially when guests are celebrating a special occasion. Being directed to a cluttered bar counter despite having a reservation, only to be moved after pushing back, did not make us feel welcomed or valued. The ambience is great, but unfortunately the food, value for money, and service did not live up to the standards this restaurant appears to market itself on. I won’t be returning."

"Lovely restaurant with great ambience, nice music, and an excellent view overlooking the city skyline. The staff were fantastic, always attentive, quick to refill our glasses, and to replace plates and cutlery without us having to ask. The food was excellent and came out at a good pace, without long waiting times. Portions were just right and everything tasted great. We were also pleasantly surprised with a complimentary cake as we were celebrating a birthday, plus some nice chocolates to end the night, a really thoughtful touch. They also have an open rooftop bar, and it happened to be hosting an event when we were there, with a great selection of drinks and happy hour that ran till 8:30pm. Overall, an excellent experience and definitely a place I’d recommend!"

"What an incredible dining experience! We chose the 8-course tasting menu, and every single dish was beautifully presented, creative, and packed with flavor. Each course felt unique and thoughtfully crafted, making the entire meal an exciting journey from start to finish. The quality of the ingredients and attention to detail were outstanding. A special thank you to Prema, who made the evening even more memorable. She was exceptionally attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely friendly, taking the time to explain the dishes and ensuring we had everything we needed throughout the meal. Her professionalism and warm personality elevated an already fantastic experience. One of the best meals we’ve had in Singapore. Highly recommended, and we can’t wait to return!"

"This restaurant is just facing the Singapore river and MBS. Very breezy but also means aircon is not strong as the doors are mostly open. Food was great. Service was fast and polite. Love the gluten free fish tacos and the beef quesadillas. Lunch on a Friday was quite full so reservations recommended."
