Xi Men Jie 西門街 (Downtown East) Wholesome Taiwanese Meals

I think the ratings are justified. This place serves really delicious food. Each dish that came was amazing. The price isn't expensive too. The mee sua was packed with flavour and probably one of the better ones ive tried. The abacus seeds are a must order, it is fragrant and savoury, full of ingredients. The simple cabbage dish was stir fried so well you can taste the wok hei. The fried chicken was the usual Taiwanese style fried chicken, crispy on the outside and juicy and tender on the inside. Honestly everydish that came was so good. "Wow, this is so good" was constantly running through my mind throught the meal. Excellent. Extremely well done. You have to try.

The braised pork rice taste good but portion is too little. Braised egg too salty. The oyster sauce ice lettuce is normal. Brown sugar bubble milk tea is alright. Not too sweet. Due to the small portion of all items at $17.50 not really value for money and on the pricey side for such food.

Vert bad service experienced by their attitude and rudeness when ordering and put the food down unwilling like slamming on the table when delivering food to the table, showing attitude behaviour. Walked off like i owe them $$$$. Used to be better but screwed my lunch experience. Not likely to come back again. Food ok. Service level is terrible.

Great food and a pleasant dining experience. The dishes were flavorful and served hot, and the staff were friendly and attentive.
