This establishment is wonderful for both brunch and dinner. The ambiance evokes a sense of nature, and the food is quite satisfactory, albeit a bit expensive. However, the service is truly exceptional, which makes the cost entirely justifiable. They offer a comprehensive bar selection; we particularly enjoyed the Bellinis. There is a small for young childten to have fun I found myself feeling incredibly relaxed during my visit. I certainly plan to return one evening to experience their live band. Furthermore, it is a pet-friendly venue, so feel free to bring your beloved companions.
Great tropical theme restaurant hidden among the Gillmore Barracks. The decor of the place makes you feel like you are in a restaurant in Bali. There is even a pool. There is also a stage for the live band but there is only a DJ while we were there. We had the Summer Caprese, Good Ole' Marg, Ribeye and Truffle Fries. The food were are fantastic. The staff were friendly. The place is pet friendly
Wheeler’s Tropikana feels like a hidden Balinese resort tucked away in the middle of Singapore. I was the first customer of the day, which made the experience even more special as I had the chance to enjoy the peaceful surroundings before the crowds arrived The venue is stunning. The open-air restaurant features warm wooden furnishings, a beautifully designed stage area, lush tropical landscaping and a relaxing resort atmosphere that immediately transports you out of the city. Beyond the dining area is a spacious outdoor garden and pool, creating the perfect setting for a leisurely breakfast, brunch or weekend gathering For breakfast, I ordered the Blueberry Honey Pancakes and an Iced Flat White. The pancakes were beautifully presented, topped generously with fresh blueberries, berry compote and a dusting of icing sugar. They were light, fluffy and paired wonderfully with the sweetness of the honey. The iced flat white was smooth, refreshing and exactly what I needed on a warm Singapore morning
It is quite an experience to go to Tropikana to chill, savour some good beef tartare and enjoy awesome live music. Huge props to Shirlyn + The UnXpected for livening up the place with our favourite rock classics and totally nailing it when performing the technically challenging “Sweet Child O’ Mine” on the fly. With the live band performing, every song feels more alive. The vibe, the presence, the music and the impact all have that extra oomph when played live by an awesome band. Tropikana really features that tropics feel: located in idyllic, serene Gillman Barracks, which is like Dempsey Road of the south, has a lush forest as backdrop, swimming pool, open space with lawn, rustic wooden tables, rattan chairs, huge rattan ceiling lamps, and a stage for live band. I immediately feel like relaxing with a cocktail or some beer when arriving here. The food here is Italian classics with a bit of local flair, and it is good, especially the beef tartare. Beef Tartare impresses me right at first bite. The combination of tangy Capers, meaty sweet raw cubed Beef, creamy egg yolk and the spiciness of Tabasco wows me over at first bite. The earthy goodness of super crispy thin Truffle Purple Potato Chips balances the simulating taste of the beef tartare so well. The bits of Pickled Cucumber adds the zesty crunchy goodness to make it even better. Definitely a must try here. The Jack Sparrow immediately hits me with its briny sweet aroma when served. This pizza with superthin dough base is full of different kinds of briny sweetness: mussels’ creamy one, squid's light milky one, and cold shrimp's crisp one. Onion, Fior Di Latte (an Italian cheese), Chilli Flakes, Tomato Sauce adds the extra kick to the taste. Sunset Sling of Brass Butterfly Pea Gin, Orange Liquer, Pineapple, Honey, Lime tastes so smooth with a good balance of sweetness, bitterness and zest. Thoughts: Fantastic Experience!
Came with my wife on a Thursday night. Did a reservation as this resto was known to be crowded. We ordered a parma ham pizza, grilled octopus and some lychee Bellini. Food was good. There’s dj spinning music but would have preferred live music which I guess is on Fridays.
