A fantastic dining experience. As a vegetarian, I appreciated that there were still delicious à la carte options. The beetroot dish was incredibly creative, the mushroom pappardelle was my favourite, and even the fennel (which I normally don’t like) was fresh and delicious. Every dish was beautifully presented, and the staff took the time to explain the ingredients and cooking methods, which made the experience even more enjoyable. Highly recommend!

Wonderful, amazing experience. We did the big degus and loved it. Food was exception and the staff fantastic - attentive and very knowledgeable on food/wine/regions. Couldn’t have asked for more. Wine list is expansive for NZ, lots more than just bloody Pinots - over 40 wines by the glass too! Of the 10 courses we loved 8 of them and couldn’t eat one - which is how we like it, would rather they pushed the boundaries of their inventiveness than played it safe. Our new fave in Queenstown.

We had a wonderful dinner at Toast & Oak – a true hidden gem in Queenstown! The restaurant is beautifully stylish yet incredibly cozy, with a warm and inviting atmosphere. You can choose between à la carte or the chef’s tasting menu. We went for à la carte, and every single dish was outstanding – perfectly executed and full of flavor. A special mention goes to our sommelier Nathalie, who was absolutely brilliant. She curated four stunning wine pairings (all local and rather unique) that complemented each course perfectly. Her knowledge and passion for the wines were impressive – every recommendation felt spot-on. Toast & Oak is definitely on the higher-end side, but it fully delivers on its promise: exceptional kitchen, impeccable service, and a thoughtfully curated menu. One of the best dining experiences we’ve had in NZ – highly recommended!

Real deal in fine dining in NZ. I did the chefs table experience and each dish was a complete winner. Fresh ingredients, artful presentation. This was all true even when they were in the weeds, what a special treat to see the back of the house orchestrated in their incredible precision. I was lucky enough to try an off menu risotto which was exquisite and probably my favorite dish of the night. The service was personable and prompt. Gervais was a highlight of the night. Thank you for everything and especially all of the wine recommendations. I will most definitely be back when I’m back in QT. Best, Ryan

Everything about this place was high quality, and we really had an amazing dining experience. It was extra special for us as it was the last night of our honeymoon in NZ! The staff were friendly, attentive and highly knowledgable. We did the 5 course Chefs Journey and we are so glad we did. Every item of food was so flavoursome & we found ourselves throughly enjoying foods we previously may not have eaten! I did the paired NZ wines and was also blown away by the matching of these to the food. Thank you team for such a memorable dining experience for my husband and I ❤️.
