This stall specializes in Goreng pisang and other fried delights. They are located at a coffee shop along Toa Payoh Central, and is a 2 mins walk away from Toa Payoh National Library. I got the following: - Goreng pisang, which was freshly fried. It was big and mildly sweet. - Fried sweet potato: this was a huge piece of sweet potato 🍠 that was coated with crispy batter. Not too sweet though. - Chempedak: this was a huge specimen, and I had a hard time chewing the fibers and swallowing it. Not too bad, but we didn’t get to try the other items, as they were sold out and being replenished.

Simply one of the best, if not it’s the best Pisang Raja in Singapore!🍌🍌🍌 Translate to β€œFried Banana”, it’s found in most hawker centres in Singapore πŸ‡ΈπŸ‡¬. Traditionally a Malay snack, what is rare here, is a Chinese Chef to master cooking this snack. Toa Payoh Lucky Pisang Raja has got to be in business for well over 50yrs, ever since I was a kid and the stall has been operating at the same coffee β˜•οΈ shop. What’s good? What’s special? 1️⃣ Firstly, it’s the whole banana not the cut into half type type. So full banana….. super sweet! 2️⃣ Secondly, the batter they use has gotta be one hell of a special!! 🀣πŸ’ͺπŸ’ͺπŸ’ͺ Fried till super crispy and yet the banana inside is still not burned and super juicy? How? You gotta ask yourself how on earth did they do it? 3️⃣ Thirdly, everything else in the store is just as yummy! Nobody goes there and buy just 1 x Pisang! 🀀 Pro Tip : All orders are take away orders. So it comes in a paper bag πŸ›οΈ and then a plastic bag. NEVER tie up the bag! The minute the heat gets trapped inside the bags, they will go soggy πŸ’¦. (Guarantee) if they just finished frying it, air it as much as you can and try your best to avoid getting the paper bag wet. (Or you can walk back and queue again πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚) Sick Tip : Bring it home and pour hot chocolate or condense milk over it! πŸ˜‹πŸ˜…πŸ˜‚πŸ˜˜ don’t say β€œBo Jio!” #kingofpisang #bestpisanginsingapore

Best banana fritter in Toa Payoh, maybe Singapore. Their turnover was very fast so no matter what time you buy, the fritters were still hot. Maybe their bright lights helped too. I loved their banana fritters and the green bean. Chempadak was special but there’s a big seed inside. Would be so much better with the seed removed. Coffee at this coffee shop was decent too. Good pairing.

Not as crispy as last time. Batter seems to have changed. Oil not that clean. Has a weird taste/smell. Cash only. - Count your pieces and count your change before leaving. Pisang Raja ($1.50) Curry Puff ($1.50)
