The Malayan Council

Stopped by for a meal and the experience was solid. Had the smoked duck and the quality is definitely high, but the noodles were a bit too ‘lemak’ (rich/creamy) for my personal preference as I usually go for a drier style. It’s a great dish if you love that rich, authentic gravy—just down to my own taste buds! The Japanese Matcha Cheesecake is a 10/10 and easily the highlight of the meal. Huge thanks to Iman for the top-tier service. She was very professional and handled my feedback about the noodles with total class, and they even served a complimentary portion of chicken wings which were delicious. Really appreciated the gesture. Chill atmosphere and high-end vibes. Recommended.

Interesting fusion of Malay/Western. Tried the satay - nicely done with rich peanut sauce. Sup kambing was a wee dilute and lacked the spicy oomph. Crab linguine (mee) goreng was nicely done with a thick spicy gravy topped with a soft shelled crab. Beef Wellington was delicious with a thin pastry surrounding a well-cooked medium-done thick slab of beef. Except tge seasonal veg looked rather feeble & weak. Durian pengat had a smooth creamy aromatic durian puree on a durian sponge with a side of ice cream. Heavenly. Service was as good as it gets, with only 1 server taking orders, serving dishes, clearing plates, topping up requests and still singing birthday songs for almost EVERY table that evening! (We must be the only ones NOT celebrating birthday!) Kudos to Hakim. Good dinner, interesting spread, tasty concepts. A wee on the pricey side for some dishes.

TMC is always the go-to for any special occasions. Superb food, great customer service. We always enjoyed ourselves here. We were surprised there was live band on this evening. Added to the already nice atmosphere! Also, always thankful for the complimentary dishes and cakes they provided. Will always keep coming back!

We had an absolutely wonderful experience celebrating my husband’s birthday at The Malayan Council @Winstedt and I can’t thank Cik Hasnah and her amazing team enough for making it so meaningful and memorable. From the warm welcome to the thoughtful service throughout the evening, everything was handled with such care and attention to detail. The team truly went above and beyond to ensure our celebration felt special, and it meant so much to our family. The food was fantastic, the atmosphere was perfect, and the service was simply outstanding. You can really feel the genuine hospitality and passion from the team. If you’re looking for a place to celebrate your loved ones, I highly recommend The Malayan Council especially at Winstedt. It’s more than just a dining experience—it’s where beautiful memories are made. We will definitely be back for more family celebrations!
