We had the oxtail stew and the butter chicken, both were delicious. The waitress warned us that the butter chicken is very spicy, but it was fine for us. If you can eat mala hotspot, this is going to be fine. The portions are generous, so don't order too many mains if you want dessert afterwards. The staff were also very friendly and quick with our order. Thanks Ginny. Vibe is casual and cozy.

We had lunch on a Saturday. Happy to see brunch menu! There are also options for Indian, western and local food. Portions are big, everything tasted good, so it is worth the price. Restaurant is nicely decorated with English homely feel.

Had dinner with colleagues and friends at Tanglin Cookhouse. It was all our first time eating at this restaurant. We all had the ala carte buffet. Food was amazing and truly value for money. My favourites were the white rojak quinoa salad, beef rendang, chicken satay, and nonya assam prawn. The desserts were yummy, especially the cendol. Staff were all attentive and friendly. Cheeny was very helpful in explaining the dishes and provided excellent service. She also asked if anyone was celebrating birthday. We all joked that today was the 7th day of CNY and everyone's bday. To our surprise our desserts came with birthday tag and candle and a happy birthday song was played. We all appreciated the gesture. Highly recommended this place! Will definitely come back.

Ordered the Halibut Fish Curry set lunch. The halibut itself was really well done, nicely pan-fried with a good texture, and it soaked up the curry nicely. The curry was tasty and comforting, no complaints there. But overall, the meal felt way too heavy. The curry already had (much) potatoes, and then it came with both rice and naan… just felt like carb overload. Everything tasted decent, just not very balanced. Good if you’re super hungry, but I probably wouldn’t order it again as is.

I walked passed Tanglin Cookhouse a few times at Tanglin Mall. The menu looks interesting and finally, we booked a table for lunch today. We were shown to our table quickly and the staff were very friendly. We ordered the Yorkshire Pudding with beef and horseradish, Hainan Oxtail and sticky toffee pudding. We made Yorkshire Pudding at home and the one we tasted here was pretty good. It was light and a good idea to make them mini sized to serve as a starter. The oxtail was flavourful and was great to dip the baguette into the gravy. The meat was tender that it just fell off the bone easily. The biggest surprise was the sticky toffee pudding. The pudding was light and I could taste the toffee lingering in my mouth. It paired well with the ice cream and it wasn't overly sweet. I also liked the caramelised banana in it. Overall, it was a tasty lunch and we would return to try other dishes in the menu. By the way, they charged $1 per person for water. They explained that it is distilled water. At least they told us in advance.
