Tanglin Cookhouse (Paya Lebar Quarter)

We tried this restaurant for the first time and were thoroughly impressed. The food was excellent, and the portions were very generous. The two of us (both ladies) had 2 main courses, 2 sides (papadum and sourdough), and 1 açaí bowl—and we finished it all! All the foods and drinks are good but I need to comment on Creamy Singapore Chili Crab Pasta with you. The pasta itself was delicious - the sauce was rich, creamy, and had a great savory-spicy kick. I enjoyed the flavor and finished the entire pasta dish. However, the crab itself was disappointing. When I got to the body meat, it had a noticeable off smell (near the lung/gill area), so I avoided it and only ate the meat from the legs, which was fine. Luckily, I had mostly finished the tasty pasta by then, so I could enjoy the crab legs at the end. It's a creative and flavorful dish, but they really need to check the quality and freshness of the whole crab they are using. For the price, I expect perfectly fresh seafood. Our waiter - Mr. Andy was also very nice and friendly, which added to the great experience. Highly recommended for anyone who enjoys Western food. The prices are very reasonable for such a fancy atmosphere.

Really need to give praise to the chef here! Every single dish we ordered was amazing. Forgot to take more photos coz the food was so good that we all couldn't stop eating! Andy was our host for the evening and he made our night even better. He was friendly, helpful and so flexible. Thankx to him we got a good alcohol pairing with our food. 100% recommend this place and will come again and again!

Had a wonderful dining experience here while celebrating our friend’s birthday. The food & services were excellent. The prices are very reasonable for the quality of food & overall dining experience. Thank you Jeanie and team for the complimentary tiramisu cake for our friend’s birthday. Not only was it a thoughtful gesture, but the portion was also very generous and absolutely delicious! We had a fantastic time & will be back again!

Returned to Tanglin Cookhouse PLQ again! I went back so many times that the staff Jeanie remembers me instantly 🤣 Jeanie is very nice, friendly and attentive to our needs. She also celebrated my birthday once again. 🤭 We absolutely love the English Fish & Chips. We have eaten it multiple times and we are always very pleased. Even the chips/fries are really nice! We tried the Norwegian Salmon Wellington this time and we were pleasantly surprised. They are generous with the Salmon Filling and it tasted really British HAHAHA. Definitely will be coming back again and again and again 😚

Love the colonial vibe for this restaurant. Food was good, so was the service and ambience. The Tanglin scotch egg is a must order. So delicious 😋. The beef Wellington was value for money. Not the best grade but definitely worth it for the price. We loved the pesto pasta with masala chicken too. The fusion mixed flavor was awesome. Would definitely be back to try the other dishes.
