Ultimately the best fancy halal food in the West. The food is superb, diverse, slightly pricey but very generous portions. Something nice is that even though it’s fusion, there’s still a lot of familiar flavors like nasi goreng briyani etc, so you can bring your parents that may not be too adventurous. The ambience is fancy, tall ceilings, great view. The starters are huge, every rice option is good, every burger option is good, and I’ve tried the grills multiple times over. Everytime I come, the staff are very friendly, especially Anil (hope I got your name right) who serves with a smile and great service all the time. Get the hummus with pita bread, crab meat fried rice, nasi goreng ayam, and teh tarik! The ice-cream is also soooooo nice. 10/10 great special occasion place, bring your family, friends, or date!

Sumac Chel An exceptional dining experience reflecting true five-star standards. They served breakfast cuisine was exquisitely prepared0830-1030 and lunch from 1100. There was 17 in our group and they we very kind in allowing us to order drinks and some Asian food before lunch time. The portions were generous. The service was consistently prompt, attentive, and highly professional. Shoutout goes to Chel for her patience in serving such a big group!! Thank you, Sumac. I look forward to returning for another memorable dining experience.

One of the better halal restaurants offering fusion cuisine. We chose Sumac to celebrate a colleague’s farewell. Despite arriving 25 minutes late, the staff were kind and accommodating in holding our table. The restaurant was almost full for a Tuesday lunch. Impressive, given its elusive location. The first thing that stands out is the view. Overlooking the swimming pool, it is beautifully complemented by the lush greenery of Bukit Timah hill. Service was warm and efficient, and we were offered a larger table as we over-ordered. The food arrived promptly, with bold and well-balanced flavours. While the grilled meats felt slightly under-charred for my preference, this allowed the marination to stand out, something the rest of the group enjoyed but me. Portions are generous and prices are competitive, making it great value overall. Highly recommended for hearty meals and gatherings.

Had a family lunch there. The food is quite good. However despite the restaurant being relatively empty at 12pm, it was difficult to get the attention of the staff to make order. Each staff seemed busy in their own world and their faces are not welcoming or friendly. Is this a happy restaurant?
