Sin Lam Huat, commonly known as the "Two Sisters" coffee shop, is an old-school coffee shop and eatery on Pulau Ubin. It is run by two sisters who were born and raised on the island. While deciding on my lunch, I was attracted by the building’s facade and decided to dine here. This place is popular for its rustic, authentic kampung atmosphere. The walls are covered in historical black-and-white photographs of Pulau Ubin, making it feel like a mini community gallery. I ordered the following items for lunch: 1. Kampong Chicken Stir-Fry with Spring Onions & Ginger - $12 2. Beancurd with Minced Pork - $8 3. White Rice - $1 x 2 bowls 4. Bottle of Mineral Water - $2 The total cost of the meal for two is SGD24. Do note that this place accepts cash only. I arrived at 1.30 pm on a Saturday, and my food was served at 2.15 pm. The wait was 45 mins. 💡 Tip: Be patient! Since only the two sisters manage the place, the food can take a while, sometimes up to an hour during peak hours. The younger sister is in charge of cooking, while the elder sister does the front-of-house service and makes coffee.
Had a really nice dinner, right by the sea, so the view is relaxing and beautiful, and the staff were super friendly and welcoming. The food portions were honestly huge and a rare bonus for an island spot was that the toilets were actually clean. A comfortable place to enjoy a meal
Super friendly aunty. Good family cooked food. Delicious We ordered seafood fried rice, steamed prawns, omelette turnip, Kai lan and kampung chicken! Total for only $63 Chicken is juicy and tasty. Must eat!
we had an excellent meal, exactly what we needed after biking to and from the wetlands... it was delicious and inexpensive and the lady was super nice! would definitely recommend giving it a try if you're around
The quality of the food actually exceeded my expectation. Lets face it. The atmosphere is pretty old school and the restaurant is open area so it will feel hot and humid even with the several fans they have. You don't have a lot of choices when it comes to restaurants around here but I would still recommend it to go and try if you are hungry. Service is good and they are kind but luckily I had a friend who could communicate in Chinese. Otherwise I would have been struggled. Note: Restroom... is interesting...
