Food wise was good. The mapo tofu was excellent. MUST go with some white rice. Chawanmushi was very good. A bit pricey though. I hear the executive set lunch was value. CNY period not available. May try when it's back after CNY.
Food was great and service from Yvonne and Doris was amazing. The duck was very tender and the skin was perfectly crispy. Mapo tofu was flavourful and tofu was very silky. The scorched rice crab roe in clay pot had great texture and flavour as well. Aged wine chocolate cake had a fudgy texture and was delicious.
My family hosted an overseas guest for dinner at Shisen Hanten. The interior was beautifully and thoughtfully renovated in 2024. The service crew (Hui Hsuan, Winnie, Eunice, Katherine, Sharon) were attentive to our needs and frequently topped up our tea. They checked-in on our experience after every few dishes and offered to adjust flavours like spice or salt levels. We kept to the original flavours to taste how the chef intended it to be. We went with the Opulent Set Menu. Each dish tasted refined and exquisite. The flavours were well-balanced. The most interesting was the Foie Gras Chawanmushi with Crab Roe Soup. The subtle flavour of Foie Gras that envelopes the Crab Roe Soup pleasantly surprised us. All the dishes were very enjoyable and I'll recommend this place for anyone looking for a refined experience of the szechuan cuisine.
This is a late post review. Celebrated my birthday dinner with my husband in April. We were welcome warmly by their staff. Yvonne and Jolin. They were friendly and polite. Decoration was great and cosy. Grand but not over the top. After finding out it was my birthday, they kindly switch to a view seat with privacy. I was elated. Service was excellent. Food was explained explicitly by Mr Eric. He was really patient and helpful throughout our course meal. Ms Irene too, pay attention to details and making sure we were comfortable. Ms Doris was considerate about making sure our take home food is well preserved. We really had a fabulous time there. Beside their service, food was excellent. Chef really put a lot of thoughts into his creation. Worth to try out there.
An exceptional dining experience from start to finish. Every dish reflected precision, bold yet balanced flavours, and a deep respect for Szechwan tradition, demonstrating both skill and thoughtful care in its preparation. The Mapo Tofu was a true highlight; perfectly spicy with a rich, savory depth, showcasing high-quality ingredients and meticulous technique. The Peking duck was tender, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The accompanying tea was wonderfully smooth and continuously topped up, ensuring we never ran short — a small but meaningful touch that reflected the team’s attentiveness. The meal concluded elegantly with Szechwan Jelly and seasonal fruits, offering a light, refreshing contrast to the richness of the earlier courses. The service was equally impressive. All of the staff were warm, professional, and attentive, making us feel genuinely welcomed from the moment we arrived. In particular, today’s team with Hui Hsuan, Lynzee, Irene, Winnie, Sharon, Yvonne, and Jolin who went above and beyond, anticipating our needs and attending to every detail with care. Their thoughtfulness, knowledge, and friendly demeanor elevated the entire experience, making it feel both effortless and memorable. This is a restaurant where craftsmanship, consistency, and heart come together. From the precision of the cuisine to the subtle, attentive service, every element demonstrates a commitment to excellence. It truly deserves its recognition, and it is a place I will return to without hesitation.
