★★★★★ Sakaba Igokochi delivered an outstanding dining experience from start to finish. Every dish was beautifully presented, fresh, and full of authentic Japanese flavours. The Omaka-Seh concept offers excellent value, especially with the free-flow drinks, making it perfect for celebrations or a night out with friends. A special thank you to Chef Angus and the entire team for their warm hospitality and attentive service. They made us feel genuinely welcomed throughout the evening. We celebrated with a bottle of Dom Pérignon Vintage 2012, and together with the amazing food, great company, and wonderful conversations, it made for an unforgettable night. Highly recommended if you're looking for quality Japanese cuisine, exceptional service, and a welcoming atmosphere. We'll definitely be back.

The atmosphere feels just like a cozy Japanese izakaya — the hand-drawn menu posters on the wall and sake bottles add a very authentic touch. Tried the strawberry mint cocktail, which was super refreshing and beautifully presented with a little origami crane on the straw — such a thoughtful detail. The salmon sashimi was extremely fresh, rich in flavor, and simply melted in the mouth. The side dishes like the potato salad and fried fish balls gave a nice homely balance, perfect to go with drinks. Service was warm and attentive, with staff giving clear recommendations and quick serving time. Overall, it felt like dining in a small Japanese bar, relaxed and enjoyable. 🍶🍣🍹 Definitely a place I’d love to come back to and try more dishes!

It’s our first time here. Zuwai Kani Donabe and Duck Confit Donabe, it’s a limited time dishes I think. love the texture of the USA Calrose Rice in both dishes — truly umami and perfect for a rice lover like me. We also had their famous fried chicken, it’s perfect to have with beer and must try their stingray too, very nice. I really like the cozy ambiance too and the friendly staffs. Would really recommend this place for fusion Japanese food. Sakaba Igokochi at NEWest mall delivered an absolutely stellar dining experience for our group of five. The restaurant itself has a wonderfully cosy and comfortable atmosphere, perfect for a relaxed evening. From the moment we sat down, the service was attentive, friendly, and contributed significantly to the overall enjoyment. Three of us opted for the special Halloween Omakase ($68++), and it was a delightful journey through various courses, showcasing skill and fresh ingredients. The menu included: Amuse-bouche (Saki-zuke): A beautiful little tartlet topped with what looked like fresh diced sashimi and glistening ikura – a perfect start. 2 Kinds Seasonal Appetizers (Hassun): Presented elegantly, these included delicate bites like shellfish with seaweed and oyster with jelly, both beautifully prepared and flavourful. 3 Kinds Seasonal Sashimi (Mukō-zuke): The sashimi course featured impeccably fresh slices of seasonal fish, demonstrating the kitchen's commitment to quality raw ingredients. Seasonal Salad (Su-zakana): A refreshing salad course served with crab chawanmushi in a charming lidded bowl. The omakase also included a choice of main (Saikyo Cod or Gyu Steak) and a dessert, which were executed just as well! The omakase came with a complimentary Bloody Mary, which, along with the Whisky Sours we ordered, was expertly mixed and delicious. Our friends who ordered à la carte were equally impressed. The Gindara Saikyo Miso ($25) and the Zuwei Kani Donabe ($28) were wonderful and cooked perfectly. We also shared several appetisers, all of which were hits: the Cauliflower Mentai ($12), Charcoal Chicken Karaage ($15), and Ika Geso Kimchi ($15) were flavourful and great for sharing. Every dish, whether raw or cooked, was handled with care and tasted fantastic. Sakaba Igokochi truly excels in offering high-quality Japanese cuisine in a welcoming environment with excellent service. It's an easy 5 stars and a place I would highly recommend for a special meal or just a wonderful night out.

Saw the stellar reviews and thought to try. We both got the omakase and we got really slimy sashimi that tasted off so we left that half eaten. The uni was particularly bad. The beef claypot bowl was okay. Will probably avoid the raw fish if I ever come back
