PUTIEN is one of those places where you more or less already know the food standard will be good no matter which outlet you visit. Been here multiple times and it never disappoints. My must-order every single time is definitely the Sweet & Sour Pork with Lychee. Honestly, I’ve never had another restaurant do this dish quite like PUTIEN. The sauce, the crispy pork and the sweetness from the lychee just work ridiculously well together. The Spinach in Superior Stock is another favourite. Sounds simple but somehow it’s so comforting and addictive. At this point I genuinely feel like I could just order these two dishes with one bowl of rice every day and still be happy hahaha.
Went to Putien on a weekday afternoon and had a really nice experience. We ordered their mix-and-match lunch set, which came with quite a good variety — braised bamboo shoot, Mazu mee sua, stir-fried kailan with beancurd skin, Putien sweet and sour pork with lychee, stone pot homemade beancurd, and claypot chicken in fermented red rice wine. We also added on the stir-fried yam and the Fujian wild red mushroom chicken soup. The staff were very attentive and service was smooth throughout. All the dishes were enjoyable and suited our taste — flavourful but not too heavy. Our favourite was definitely the claypot chicken in fermented red rice wine. It was really fragrant and comforting. Overall, a very satisfying meal. Would come back again!
This is the only restaurant my mum has “endorsed” - she has a very picky taste buds as she is our chef at home! Today, we celebrated her 77th birthday at Jewel. She loved the dishes as always and the service was impeccable. Joey was especially attentive, frequently checking on our table. To top it off, my mum was pleasantly surprised with an in-house birthday treat. Overall, we truly love this brand!
Putien delivered a satisfying dinner with food that was well executed and consistent. The highlight of the meal was the Fried Heng Hwa Bee Hoon, which was exceptional, fragrant and full of flavour. The seasonal oyster claypot was another standout, with fresh oysters and spot on seasoning. The rest of the dishes were also well prepared, reflecting the reliable standards Putien is known for. Having visited the Changi outlet several times, it was reassuring to see the same consistency here. The staff also showed that they cared about the dining experience, checking in during the meal to ask how everything was. The only slight drawback was at the start. Our group of six was first brought to a table with a sofa and three individual chairs, which felt quite cramped since we had several hand carry items with us. We asked if it was possible to move to a bigger table and there seemed to be a bit of hesitation before the request was accommodated. As the restaurant was rather empty and there were tables for eight available, it would have been more comfortable if we were directed to one of those from the start. That said, the delicious food that followed definitely made up for it and made the overall experience a much more pleasant one.
We always go to Putien to have meals. This is the first time at Jewel branch. Again, the food is delicious and did not fail us. The service is also very good at this branch.
