Had a reservation for lunch, the drive up is like you are going for a private party or banquet.... along a country road into a private building. They are serving discovery lunch set, appetizer was amazing with homemade prawn cracker, beautiful crafted Ngoh hiang, what impressed me most is the prata puff that stuff with veg.. it really bring you back to straits heritage days of cultured mixed of Indian, malay, chinese herbs and ingredients..blended well. The Pang sushi was my favourite, it is like bo lo bao, it is a like the early 1800s European influence to baking cuisine in early Singapore. The bun is amazingly crisp on top, soft around with the lberico pork inside... wish they sell it off the counter too. Another dish that blow my mind off is rhe Oxtail satay, see my photo.. no ordinary satay..ox tail stew into softness and roasted with fragrance of some type of wood that gives the smoky flavour...this is truly like kitchen in the olden days..smoky during every meal prep. The main course is really filling, japanese egg sunny side up top with some great respect... like Indonesian or bali..cuisine. Dessert was good bite size classic nonya kueh, may look normal but taste exceptional. Definitely will come back again for another experience.. Truly the the research done to recreated these recipes of rhe past is a respectable. Well done Chef Malcom.
21st of February 2026 Our family birthday dinner at Pangium was beyond just a gastronomic journey. It was the perfect blend of traditional Straits cuisine principles and creative culinary imaginations, conveyed through an innovative concoction of contemporary techniques and beautifully layered flavours. One of our guests was of Peranakan heritage and she thoroughly enjoyed all the courses provided. Our experience was further enhanced by detailed, meaningful and even bilingual explanations that accompanied every course. We want to express our most sincere gratitude to the kitchen and service staff for their homely hospitality and warm demeanour that elevated our exquisite and memorable experience. We highly recommend Pangium for an evening of fellowship, dinner and even making friends with their enthusiastic kitchen and service crew. Our huge compliments to Chef Lim, Jean, Rainer, Cha Yee, Ya Xin, Sherrine, Huat, Jazzaca, Nelson, Leroy and Joanne. Thank you for making our dinner a truly unforgettable one!
Having heard so many positive comments on Pangium, I finally made the reservation for lunch. Their menu is a reflection of their ongoing exploration of heritage Straits cuisine. It is an eye-opening experience to join this ever-evolving journey through the rich culinary traditions of the Malay Archipelago. Chef Malcolm Lee successfully preserves heritage. On top of that, he adapts new influences into his cuisine creating his own hybrid cuisines. All desserts are very delicious. I like sagun and musk melon sago in particular. It is highly recommended that you add Tau Yu Bak which is the best main dish among all. It is not the cuisine I often have. Yet, with the professional and knowledgeable staff, I know more about the stories and heritage behind each dish. I enjoy it from start to finish.
The service was nice and the location is too, albeit hard to get to and from. Sanitary issues 0/5. There was a plumbing issue in the woman’s bathroom, with water leaking from somewhere and being all over the floor. The girl who was cleaning up the bathroom with a broom and supplies was then bringing out my dessert. It seems completely unsanitary to have the same staff handling bathrooms and then food. I’m hoping I won’t get a food poisoning, and that’s not the sentiment I should be leaving a restaurant with. Food 2/5 Food was visually appealing but very underwhelming. It was a random assortment of flavors that didn’t tie together, and nothing was particularly tasty or memorable. Beef was very bad, extremely greasy. The beef soup had one tiny piece of beef that was just gristle. Value for the money 1/5 Very expensive for what you get. I didn’t like the food so that’s ok, but the portions are very small. I paid nearly $300 for a lunch with two pots of tea, and that was their cheapest menu.
Fantastic dining experience. The greenery and views are fantastic. Come a little earlier to walk around the area and check out the gardens and historic black and white bungalows nearby. Food is a modern take on regional dishes with a heavy peranakan dishes. Some interesting versions of classics as well as rarer sometimes forgotten dishes. It’s a real treat for folks who are familiar with the cuisines of the region but it’s enjoyable for everyone. Overall most of the food was great but some of the dishes were less satisfying than the originals which is to be expected. All in all, highly recommended!
