Kudos to the owners for elevating BCM standards in singapore. We definitely need more hawkers like them. The soup is quite robust and the sole fish flavor comes through pretty strongly. Seasoning is on the stronger side for the noodles but everything is delicious. The amount of ingredients for $11 dollars bowl is very good. I especially like the meatball. Personal preferences. I prefer less gunk in the soup and there is abit of iron taste in there from the liver. Also abit less saltiness in the noodles would be still fine for overall flavour. But these are subjective and minor misses to the overall great bowl. I came in the weekday morning and didn’t had to queue. The coffeeshop is nice and airy so that’s quite nice.
The bak chor mee here is something special. They've cross-bred traditional bak chor mee with high-end Japanese Tonkotsu ramen. The highlight here is really the soup - a deeply savory, smoky, cloudy broth simmered for hours until its super thick. The noodles are perfectly al dente, tossed in a balanced, savory-spicy sauce mix that has a hint of spicy bean sauce or dou ban jiang. Topped with top-tier fish maw, tender sliced pork, handmade dumplings, fishballs and meatballs, and the most perfectly cooked pork liver I’ve ever had. This is a true masterpiece! I’ve posted more photos and some tips on visiting this stall on my Instagram @iamgettingfat. Do check it out :)
It's almost 6 to 8 mths since last review on this BCM. Went over to check out its consistency: Noodles : improved with increased chewy texture. Soup: slightly over powered by Bian Yu Mee pok Sauce : 50% changed. It used to be E Lau Gan Ma chilli but it was missing this unique taste. Value for money : $13.80 for signature is worth having a go. Wow factor : Nil. After a few visits, things start to stagnant and one will ponder if it's worth 45mins Q for this (personal view) Overall visit : Satisfactory but may not visit frequently. Good job by the BCM couple. Perhaps to add in some wow factors to keep e pace going.
We visited No. 25 Minced Meat Noodle at SG Kopitiam and ordered their Signature Minced Meat Noodle. My Order: Large ($13.50) – Comes with huge meatballs and a Teochew fishball in addition to whatever is given in the small. Wife's Order: Small ($9.50) – Featured pork liver, fish maw, and fish dumplings. The Verdict: This is easily the most expensive bowl of Bak Chor Mee (BCM) I have ever paid for, but it is worth every cent. Personally, I found this stall better than Rong Fa (Mui Siong) nearby. While Rong Fa is good, No. 25 feels more well-balanced; they focus intensely on the quality of the noodles, and both the soup and dry toss are top-notch. The Taste: The noodles are excellent—springy and cooked perfectly. My wife loved the premium ingredients (especially the liver and fish maw), but honestly, the noodles themselves are the star for me. ⚠️ Warning: This is for "Heavy Flavour" (重口味) lovers. The seasoning is intense, savoury, and rich. If you are health-conscious or prefer lighter flavours, ask for less chilli, as the sambal contributes a lot of saltiness and punch. It’s so good that I’m already planning to return to try the standard Traditional BCM just to see if the noodles hold up without the premium ingredients. They even sell their own bottled sambal and tee poh powder—a testament to how confident they are in their seasoning!.
Ordered their signature bowl at $9.50 per set . This is"大华"pricing so I expected a lot . For those who like a strong favour, you will like it & appreciate it. I am not one of them. I seek balance in a bowl of BCM . Not too much of everything but when everything is added together it is just perfect ! This is different, they are oily ,vinegar is very over powering . Soup is rich & chalky, powdery as well because of the dried fish powder they used it is salty as well . Not my cup of tea. But sliced meat is very well done ! Soft & tender not a tough bite like chewing tree bark ! I give a 3.5 ,a little overpriced . Or maybe I aspect a lot when it is $9.50 ! That's just me ........... You can have their normal version for $6.50. But still need to save up ! 马马虎虎!浪得虚名!for the price .
