Really good portions and highly reccomend to get the course meal! we got to try many different things from the menu without overeating~ you can also order pizza that comes from their sister pizzeria next door! Staff were friendly and accommodating, and dishes were served at a well paced timing too! Highly recommend to get the seafood paella, prawns were sweet and the rice was packed with umami flavour from the lobster bisque, and the egg and potatoes (for something so simple it was surprisingly delicious) dessert portion was small but well thought out bc it was enough to be shared (we dont have a sweet tooth) Looking forward to visiting Mikey Taverna as the pizza dough is one of the best i’ve had!!
Had the Tomahawk, came with delicious fried potato and salad. The Tomahawk was amazing! Was very soft with bit of fats, very nicely seasoned. The chef gave us salt, pepper and mustard at the sides to pair with meat. Was one of the best beef cuts I've had. The whole meal for 2 was SGD 176 with 1 beer and Spanish cream as dessert. A happy customer, will come back to try the set meal!
We ordered the 6-course set. The food was definitely up to standard. Freshly cooked, potatoes were crisped on the outside, juicy in the inside. Beef and chicken meat weren't tough at all! Dessert was splendid! You get to taste all the flavours within a setting! Service was prompt! The waiter was friendly and approachable! Atmosphere was great. Went there for a dinner during weekdays. Not much of crowd! Cosy too!
A cute lil restaurant that intends to remind you that Abuelita always cooks best, this place serves a nice amount of Spanish dishes that does not vary. We ordered a few tapas and a main dish to fill our stomach for 2 during dinner over the weekend. For tapas, we thought the portion was just right. Although I thought the price could be a lil much more reasonable. We ordered oysters, oxtail stew, lobster bisque. Oysters were fresh, I thought one of them is a lil too salty for some reason. But other than that, the size is reasonable. Simple food with hot sauce by the side. Nothing fancy & just direct. The lobster bisque was served with a slice of garlic focaccia by the side. I thought that they could serve w much more bits of the crab meat inside or more focaccia slices to enjoy the sauce with. We thought the sauce is a bit wasteful seeing how much sauce left after dipping our slice in the plate. There was also only like 4 meat pieces in it. It will be great if provided more tho I understand that it’s suppose to be a small dish. We thought the oxtail was tender and the mash potatoes were creamy light and smooth. This is by far one of our favourites from our order. The sauce was flavourful yet mild in a way that you could taste the mash potatoes after mixing it. Last but not least, the seafood paella for 2 pas was good. Full of flavour, and it’s not too dry or wet. The only thing I’d like is that for someone who doesn’t like peeling seafood, you might find the clams is a bit too much as you will have to dig out rice from the shells. The prawns served were fresh, but and juicy. I would love it that they would also offer service to refil water for us. I thought it was a bit weird considering that the time we went weren’t really a peak time yet. But overall, I would come again for some Abuealita’s food.
Wanted to find a place with authentic Spanish food, I must say the seafood paella did not disappoint with its rich umami flavours and generous portion of seafood. We were advised to also keep to small tapa plates since we had Tomahawk coming as well. We were generously surprised at the large portions of the tapas, and they held well on its own. Tomahawk, we went with medium rare. But it was abit disappointing as we expected better quality considering the reviews. Paella still topped as the top dish. Only down side for service was that they were not very detailed in picking up the utensils we need, for instance for Tomahawk, they gave us a butter knife instead of steak knife to eat. Also, they weren’t as automatic in topping up the water. Mostly just doing their own thing despite not a super packed restaurant at that time.
