Highly recommend this school! If you bring up any issues, they’ll do their best to help you — of course, the key is that you need to voice your concerns; otherwise, they won’t know. Personally, I only care about whether I’m learning in class. Even if the teacher throws a party during the lesson, as long as I’m learning, I’m happy. The classes where I didn’t learn much usually lacked the following teaching techniques: proper time management for activities, smooth transitions between tasks, diverse learning strategies, clear explanations, exercises that are appropriately challenging for the students’ level (within the zone of proximal development), and constant attention to students’ learning progress. What I can’t accept is when teachers assign tasks and then just scroll through their phones on the side — even if they claim they’re looking up grammar rules, shouldn’t that prep work be done before class? When I gave specific feedback about these issues to the school, they didn’t seem to care about what was being taught, how it was taught, or how the students were progressing. All they said was that all teachers are qualified. They only seemed concerned about students skipping class or switching classes (because they weren’t learning anything). Not everyone has the ability to assess a teacher’s skill level, but I happen to have that expertise. I appreciate the school’s attempt to help me switch classes, though my stay was too short to give a full five-star rating. That said, the communication process was uncomfortable. The administrative staff kept implying that everything was my fault — that I wasn’t a good student, or that I wasn’t trying hard enough. Still, since they eventually addressed the teaching concerns, I accepted the outcome. My intention was always to communicate rationally and sincerely to solve the problem, ensuring I wasn’t wasting my time and tuition. However, during our conversations, the school staff told me two lies. If they feel the need to lie about small matters, how can I trust them on the bigger ones? I realized that honest dialogue wasn’t possible, so I left my review as a response. Everything I’ve said is true, including the 50/50 chance of getting a good teacher. The top-tier teachers I encountered matched my star ratings — rare, but a true gem when you find one. Being taught by such excellent teachers made me feel my progress every day, which was incredibly satisfying. Every school has its issues with teaching staff, but at least this school is willing to address them, so I’d still recommend it. For students who want to stand up for their right to learn: if you encounter a teacher you’re learning nothing from, speak up within three days. Don’t wait one or two weeks like I did — the school isn’t capable of proactively identifying classroom issues. Here are some channels for formal complaints — remember to prepare classroom records, testimonies from other students, and other evidence: 1. Report to the school’s academic director. 2. Report to the school’s owner. 3. International Education Appeal Authority (IEAA). 4. Ministry of Education, New Zealand. 5. New Zealand Qualifications Authority (NZQA).

An excellent school where you feel welcomed by the students, staff and teachers. My English has improved a lot since I started studying here. My English vocabulary is definitely bigger today thanks to the work of the whole school. If you want to have new experiences, get to know New Zealand and improve your English, this is the right place.
