I visited this izakaya tucked beneath Blk 824 with Donkey, and it truly felt like uncovering a hidden gem in the heartlands. The atmosphere was vibrant and full of character, highlighted by striking Japanese street-style graffiti, including a mural of a cat enjoying ramen that immediately caught our attention. We enjoyed the flexibility of the outdoor seating, which provided a breezy and relaxed setting for the evening. The food was excellent—the Ikayaki (grilled squid) was superb and paired beautifully with the Garlic Fried Rice. One of the standout aspects was the beverage pricing. I ordered the Mega Yuzu Highball at $9.90. Initially, the yuzu flavour was a little light, but the staff were accommodating and happily adjusted it to my preference. Though served with standard ice cubes instead of an ice ball, the drink remained refreshing and pleasant. Their Happy Hour deals are also impressive, with Sapporo Premium White starting from just $3.90. Service throughout was impeccable. The staff were professional, welcoming, and even offered complimentary vanilla or green tea ice cream for leaving a Google review. For anyone seeking an authentic izakaya experience with high-quality fare, warm hospitality, and a relaxed local vibe, this spot is a quintessential neighbourhood treasure. Tried Little Tokio and it was such a pleasant surprise! Definitely a hidden gem in Tampines. The food was fresh, nicely grilled and very satisfying overall. We especially enjoyed the seafood dishes and the fries loaded with sauce. The sauce was slightly on the sweeter side for our preference, but it still complemented the food quite well. Portion was decent and presentation was great too. Cozy spot for a casual Japanese meal — would recommend giving this place a try!
Pretty decent japanese restaurant around the neighbourhood. Environment is nice and cosy as well but not many tables. Food is a little salty and the same sauce/ seasoning was used on most of the dishes so it tasted quite one dimensional.
Great experience here during valentine's day. They have greater skewer yakitori deals at reasonable price! $25 before gst for 10 sticks! Place is very clean. Service staff is attentive and helpful. Food is pretty nice.
The skewers were ok. Taste salty on some sticks. Pork cutlet, dry, tough. They added lots of mayonnaise, overpowering. Fried squid, hard and dry when cold. Service staff were nice though. Come here for drinks maybe. Not coming back for food.
