This place was strongly recommended by friends, so we decided to give it a try. Surprisingly, the food was quite good. The dishes had a nice wok hey flavour which made them more enjoyable and homely. Overall, the food was not too bad and worth trying if you are in the area craving claypot dishes. They were also giving sure-win draw in exchange for a 5-star Google review, but this is still my own honest and non-sponsored review ☺️
Within Bukit Panjang Plaza. We got a table without reservation on a PH during dinner time. wide variety of choices in claypot. The pork belly was great. The drinks are good too. No frills eatery for a quick dinner with family.
It's an efficient menu not too big and not too small, has just a nice enough variety. Service staff are friendly and helpful. Food wise, in my opinion is a mix bag. The chicken curry is outstanding, sauce is frangrant and rich, big chunks of tender chicken, seriously is perfect for eating with rice. The mala pot, sauce had all the right flavours but chicken is dice really too small, doesn't have that nice mouth feel to it, some beancurd skin is also still a little firm, which kinda means it's not fully cooked. Veggies are a bit too salty for my taste. There still lots to try, and I have a feeling the dishes standards probably vary from dish to dish, I still think overall it's a place I'll come back to, at least for that amazing curry.
The food is decent overall, sesame chicken and ngoh hiang are not bad, but both are on the salty side. The bigger issue was the hygiene: my rice bowl had dark residue on the sides and the spoon was brownish-yellow stained. That's really not acceptable. Seating is very uncomfortable as you can't lean back at all, which makes dining here quite unpleasant. Service was okay for the most part, but one of the younger staff members was quite rude. Has potential, but hygiene and service consistency need serious improvement before I'd return.
The food was served promptly and tasted really good. The staff were friendly and attentive throughout our visit too. This was our second time dining at this outlet, and the experience was just as pleasant as the first. Will definitely be back again!
