Affordable family size char. The sambal fish is generous. The spinach is soft and my kids love it.
Restaurant was crowded cos of mothers day, and it was sometimes difficult to get waiters attention. Food was pretty good, though. We ordered the buffet and I think we got our moneys worth. Funny thing is their signature dishes are not all their best dishes. The fried pomfret, crayfish and abalone broccoli were underwhelming to be honest. But the nice prawn paste chicken and mixed fish maw soup made up for them. Prawns were OK. For the other dishes, I recommend getting the salted egg yolk calamari, the crab and egg white tofu, and the onion egg (it's stuffed with peeled prawns) Waiting time was pretty long but we got great service and good recommendations from the table manager who wished my mother happy mothers day and gave recommendations on what to order. Just keep in mind the portions are huge. We had 5 ppl, each dish that came is sized for 5 pax, so don't go overboard ordering everything. Lastly, drinks are quite expensive at 5 bucks per pax on average for chrysanthemum tea, though the tea was really very nice.
17 Mar 2023 At first, we wanna try their buffet, but when we see the other tables food, the portion is too big for us. So we end up ordering the ala carte menu size small, so we can try more variety of food. Signature Sambal Fried Fish 2/10 The fish is so dry and hard, I think it's being re fry a couple of times, not freshly fry upon order. Sambal itself taste is not good. But when you read others' reviews, this is one of the recommended dishes. Prawn Paste Chicken 8/10 Homemade Prawn Roll 10/10 This is the best I have ever tried for now, but I'm not sure in the future. Tofu with Cai Po 7/0 Hokkien style Kong Bak Pau 6/10 Kong bak tastes pretty good, but there are a couple of pieces that are 80-90% fat. The pau is pretty hard, I prefer softer ones. Sweet Sour Pork 5/10 Taste ok. The meat is on the hard side. Lala with superior stock 7/10 Qing Long with Beans sprout 8/10 Overall, it is good food, and we will come back and try their other dishes.
Price is okay for buffet but not for the standard of the food. Pretty meh level and the marketing versus real life is quite stark. Only a small handful of dish is nice, most of them is just half baked cooking.
Food was good, came on weekend dinner not many people. Food was served very fast. Curry fish head is amazing sauce bombz. Sambal fish's sambal is good but the fish a bit dry.
