L & Kim Car Air-Conditioning

Gotta love this guy - Ah Chong, the most cheerful mechanic you will ever meet. Arrived early morning without appointment - my Macan’s AC system was losing “coldness” and probably due to a gas leak somewhere. Ah Chong did a careful overall check for 15min - including removing passenger seat side panel to access the evaporator coil (where he inserted a line camera for visual check). Since we didn’t detect any visible leak, he pumped some UV liquid into the gas system and told me drive for a few days and come back again. This UV test will help to detect any gas leak in the system visually. Told me they must do a definitive check before recommending any repairs. Not pushy at all. I was impressed with this workshop’s professionalism as I had visited 2 other workshops earlier. The guys at these 2 workshops didn’t come close to doing any serious checks and immediately concluded that I need to change the evaporator coil (quote around $2K). Ah Chong didn’t want to take any inspection fee but I insisted and he accepted a $20 PayNow to his company. Looking forward to getting a conclusive diagnosis.

Mr Loo is friendly and knowledgeable. He quickly found what’s wrong with the aircon in my car. It did require repair but it was only a small leak and he said if I didn’t have time I can come back another day but he had a temporary fix meanwhile. Good efficient experience.

Attended by Ho, the very helpful staff to check the foul smell, he did the check and concluded no need to do anything and not worth to dismantle n clean the cooling system, recommended to continue monitor since only happened when I start the engine in the morning. Am very impressed by the service n no hard selling like my other experience. Highly recommended and for sure I will be back when necessary txs.

I sent my car to L & Kim Car Air-Conditioning after the AC stopped working, based on their strong Google reviews. I arrived early in the morning, and the workshop was already packed. Clearly a popular place! One of the mechanics attended to my car and was very thorough with his diagnostic process. After several checks, he concluded that the compressor had failed and needed to be replaced before they could trace the leak. He also explained that their schedule was fully booked for the next two weeks, and any repair work would depend on whether the compressor was available. I appreciated the clear communication and left the workshop after they said they’d call once they heard back from their parts supplier. Later that day, around 5pm, I was told they couldn’t source the compressor, and their supplier had no way of obtaining it. I was advised to try another workshop. The next day, I did, and to my surprise, the second workshop managed to find the part and complete the repair within a day. A third workshop I checked with also had no trouble sourcing the part and gave me a competitive quote. While I appreciate that L & Kim didn’t charge for the diagnosis and were professional in their approach, I was quite surprised that they couldn’t get a part that other workshops could source easily. Overall, they seem competent and popular, but I thought that it was strange that they couldn't get the required part.

Just had my cooling coil replaced by them. Excellent service! 👍 They clearly showed me the exact area where the cooling coil was leaking and explained the issue professionally. I also noticed other workshop sending their car here for repairs, which speaks volumes about their expertise. Their pricing is very reasonable compared to other reputable workshops, and the workmanship is impressive. Highly recommended for anyone looking for honest and reliable air-conditioning repairs. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
