Rating: 4.6 / 5 stars π€© : exceptional value, quality offerings, hospitable π€§ : a little salty Suggest making a reservation if youβre planning to come by for dinner on a Fri or Sat. While place looks small, the restaurant operates a second/mezzanine floor with more seats. Still, good idea to book given that it seems popular with groups due to its occasional beer tower deals. Location is superb - surrounded by tons of competition and a short-ish stroll from the nearby MRT stations (Maxwell, Tanjong Pagar - a tad further). What surprised me most was the cost-quality ratio - figured an ordered quite a lot for two but was very pleased when I saw the bill. Place is operated by a Thai (?) lady and gentleman, both in their silver years. They were both incredibly hospitable and made no request feel too big. For instance, they were happy to swap out seafood for chicken without question - elsewhere, I might have been faced with some scrutiny or rejection. Food was generally good. Flavour wise - cook was perhaps a little heavy on salt. Not an βuncβ btw. A little better balance would have nearly perfected the experience here. Though, i may not be too bothered about the salt if I was already have drunk.
First visit, authentic Thai restaurant. Must try the mango salad & crispy fried egg. Grilled squid is good too. The dessert presentation is pretty but a bit sweet for my liking. The staff are friendly & service is good. Can come again.
This place serves decent Thai food. If youβre working nearby, itβs a convenient spot to drop by for a meal. The restaurant is quiet and suitable for small groups of around 3β4 people. However, portions are fixed and on the smaller side, which may be a downside for some. Hand shown for scale. Overall, a decent dining experience!
Ordered basil pork rice and Tom Yum Sokthai noodles. Requested mild spice for basil pork rice, but it was still a bit too spicy for me. But it tasted really good. The char siew in the tom yum noodles was slightly tough and had a noticeable porky smell. The mango sticky rice was a little expensive, but it was very nice.
The food here was really delicious and authentic β rich flavors and good variety of classic Thai dishes. The green curry was creamy and aromatic, tom yum soup had a nice balance of spice and sourness, and the basil pork rice was very satisfying. Portions were generous and everything tasted freshly made. Service was friendly and prompt, and overall a good dining experience. Atmosphere was casual and cozy, suitable for both small groups and family meals. Definitely a nice spot if youβre craving Thai food!
