IRU DEN

We are so glad to finally visit IRU DEN! Amazing Taiwanese-Japanese fusion dishes, and Chef Javier, his wife Emily, and the IRU DEN team made us feel very welcomed. The dishes were all very well thought out. Even the chicken soup (as a palate cleanser) was amazing… We particularly liked how they would share about the dishes with an iPad showing the origins or ingredients inspired by Taiwan. The venue was very spacious and nice too. It’s in a refurbished government building, so I tell people it’s the biggest omakase venue I’ve ever been in Singapore. Overall, an excellent experience! 🙌🏼

Cozy fine dining spot at Orchard with a beautiful black and white house vibe. Creative Taiwanese flavours, well-balanced dishes, and a relaxed pacing. Great for date nights, not too heavy, overall a really enjoyable experience.

Was surprised with a dinner at Iru Den for my birthday dinner and it was such a nice experience! I don't typically write reviews but I wanted to write this one to thank Emily, Jane, and the rest of the staff that took such wonderful care of us for the night. They paid attention to all the small details and it really made a difference as compared to other dining experiences that I've had. Every dish had a really nice balance of flavors and textures, the ingredients complemented each other nicely, making every bite enjoyable. The starters were so beautiful, the shiopan and chai po butter was a definite fav, everything was so fresh. Evidently I'm not a food critic but overall 10/10. Thanks once again!

Iru Den’s omakase felt like a heartfelt tribute—especially with the loving touch of Chef’s MIL Cai Po woven into the experience. Each dish told a story: the Uni Mee Sua and Amberjack were crowd favorites at our table, but for me, the standout was the Wagyu Striploin—so tender it practically melted on the tongue. The honeycomb in the dessert leaned a bit sweet for my taste, but it didn’t overshadow the overall balance and creativity of the meal. Excellent service, thoughtful pacing, and a menu that delivers value without compromising quality. A memorable evening worth revisiting.

My meal at Iru den was a masterpiece of Japanese technique meeting Taiwanese soul. The creative use of local ingredients was incredible. Standouts included the Uni Mee Sua, a luxurious twist on a classic, the deeply flavorful Red Prawn Chawanmushi and the perfectly comforting Taro Rice. A simple-looking soup before dessert was a hidden gem—a profound golden broth of kampung chicken, sun-aged *caipu*, and a hint of pickled chilli that warmed me to my core. And the Caipu Butter with the ciabatta was so addictive, I wish they sold jars of it! A truly unforgettable dining experience. I cannot recommend it highly enough.
