GEO is located along National Route 5 in Hakodate City, near the junction with the bypass. Our shop is on the second floor, and Second Street is on the first. We sell used DVDs and books, but we also sell a lot of food and mascot character accessories. Bookstores these days sell a lot more than just books. CDs are rare these days. I got my favorite comics here when they were released while I was traveling. The selection is good and it's easy to find. The cash register is automated. I'm ashamed to say I'm not very good with automated cash registers, but GEO's is pretty easy to use. The store had a wide selection of items other than books. By the way, I also use our shop as a landmark when I'm heading to the super hot spring bathhouse, Yu no Hakokomichi.
It's spacious and has a great selection of goods. The store is also clean and nice.
I brought in a game console and about four cartridges for appraisal, and they told me there was one customer waiting and it would take about an hour. I waited inside the store, but ended up waiting for over two hours. The staff's attitude was terrible, and their voices were so quiet I couldn't understand what they were saying. I will never use this store again. I won't mention their name, but they were a tall, middle-aged man.
When I went to sell my PS5, they found scratches in places that shouldn't have been there, and they reduced the price by 18,000 yen. They strongly advised me to sell it at another store, so I deliberately said I would sell it there, but they made a disgusted face and said they didn't have the device and couldn't buy it immediately. They must be busy because it's a holiday and don't really want to buy it lol Geo does some crazy things.
This store has a good selection of books, games, and rentals compared to other stores in Hakodate. While the selection isn't great, they do have some lottery items, including some Ichiban Kuji (a type of prize draw). As soon as you go up to the store floor via escalator or stairs, you'll find salespeople selling mobile phones, and in this day and age, I sometimes wish they wouldn't approach me so much. In reality, I've hardly ever been approached.
