This is my Nth visit to G7 Frog Porridge & Live Seafood, and the frog leg claypot here has never failed to satisfy my taste buds. This time, we had the buy 4 get 2 free promotion for the frog legs — 3 cooked in Kung Pao style and 3 in ginger & spring onion style. Both were very enjoyable in their own way. The Kung Pao version was rich, savoury and flavourful, while the ginger & spring onion version brought out the natural sweetness of the frog legs beautifully. Paired with their fragrant porridge, it was a very satisfying meal. We also ordered the garlic roast chicken, which was excellent, and the long beans with dried shrimp, which was fragrant, crunchy and very appetising. Overall, G7 remains a place I keep coming back to.
It’s been a long time since I had frog porridge, and I finally tried it again during my stay in Singapore. The frog was tender and flavorful, cooked in a rich, savory sauce that paired perfectly with the porridge. The restaurant also serves crispy fried fish skin, super crunchy and tasty. A great place and definitely worth a try! 🐸🍲
Wanted to have frog porridge and came by this restaurant at Geylang. They have 2 outlets that are right across the road from each other, with a non-air conditioned unit on the ground floor and an air conditioned unit on the second floor of the opposite shophouse. Ordered the following: - Plain porridge in claypot - Pairs well with the gravy from the next 2 dishes. - Kung bao frog in claypot - Non spicy version. - kung bao with dried chili frog - Mildly spicy. - Deep-fried frog - I find the version here just alright.the batter was thick and remind me of fried chicken. It was topped with deep-fried julienned ginger. - Sambal clams; Thks was good. Sambal was tasty. - Salted egg fried squid: This was good too. Paired the food with graft Tiger beer and bottled Tsingtao beer. Ended the meal with a dessert of aiyu jelly, longans and calamansi juice. 😋 Staff were pro-active in service and helpful. They have a good flow of customers throughout the time we were dining. Recommended! 😋👍🏻👍🏻
This seems to be a very popular spot for Vietnamese tourists, and now I know why! We stopped by for a late-night dinner around 11 PM, so the restaurant was not crowded. We choose to sit outside to enjoy some fresh air! Really nice street view here. We ordered the Chili Crab. The smallest size available was 1.2kg, and the crab was huge— bigger than my hand! The sauce was rich and plentiful, though a bit on the salty side, which I think stays true to authentic Chinese flavors. We also had the Frog Porridge and the Minced Meat Tofu, both of which were absolutely delicious. We were warmly welcomed by the staff. Most of them are seniors, but they are incredibly attentive, energetic, and thoughtful. One of them are vietnamese and she helped us take a grab home while there is no taxi at midnight (be careful ah!) The portions are generous—we couldn’t finish everything! The pricing is reasonable, making it a perfect spot for families or large groups of friends. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a hearty meal in a welcoming atmosphere!
It is my second time visit the place. The frog porridge is delicious and impress me. The crab is bigger than my hand. Will visit another round when travel to singapore. Served by Jack
