I recently had a fantastic meal at **Da Paolo Dempsey Restaurant & Bar**, and it truly exceeded my expectations. If you are looking for an upscale yet relaxed dining experience in the heart of Dempsey Hill, this is the place to be. From the moment we arrived, the **service was excellent**. The staff was attentive, welcoming, and knowledgeable about the menu, making the entire afternoon feel special. The atmosphere, especially the outdoor seating area with its beautiful terrazzo tables, provides a perfect lush backdrop for a long lunch. Now, let’s talk about the food, which was simply **delicious**. We started with their **meatballs in tomato sauce**. They were incredibly tender and flavorful, served in a rich, vibrant pomodoro sauce that tasted like it had been simmering for hours. The addition of small dollops of creamy cheese on top provided a wonderful contrast to the savory meat. For the main event, the **seafood pizza** was a standout. The crust was perfectly charred with that signature wood-fired leopard spotting—crispy on the outside while remaining light and airy. It was generously topped with fresh scallops, squid, and mussels, all seasoned with a touch of garlic and herbs. You can really taste the quality and freshness of the ingredients in every bite. Overall, everything from the ambiance to the flavors was top-notch. Whether you're a local or just visiting, Da Paolo Dempsey is a must-visit for anyone who appreciates authentic, well-executed Italian cuisine. I’ll definitely be back soon!
Had such a lovely time with my daughter at Da Paolo @ Dempsey! The food was really impressive. My avocado toast was generously topped and packed with fresh, quality ingredients! Every bite felt rich and satisfying. My girl’s pasta was so good that it was truly comforting, well-balanced, and something you can keep eating without feeling overwhelmed. We also couldn’t resist the pastries and gelato. The pastries were beautifully made… buttery, flaky, and not overly sweet. The gelato was smooth, creamy, and full of flavour, perfect to end the meal on a refreshing note. Yes, it’s on the pricier side, but you’re definitely paying for quality ingredients, thoughtful preparation, and the lovely Dempsey ambience. The open pizza-making station is such a nice touch. Seeing the pizzas handmade right there makes us excited to come back and try them next time! Will definitely be back 😊
I’ve been reading one of Stanley Tucci’s books, where he mentioned Spaghetti alla Nerano, and I’ve been wanting to try it ever since. When I found out that Da Paolo Dempsey offers this dish, I knew I had to give it a go. The spaghetti was cooked perfectly al dente, rich and comforting, almost like a vegan version of carbonara. Simple, well-balanced, and absolutely worth trying. We also ordered the Bosco d’Inverno pizza. The dough had a perfect texture. The toppings leaned slightly salty for my taste, but overall it was still very enjoyable. The Burrata Pugliese was served with olive purée, which added an interesting depth and contrast to the creaminess of the burrata. The atmosphere was warm and cozy, making it a lovely spot for a relaxed meal. I would definitely come back again.
Jiggy & Amos were so nice to us. Celebrating my friend birthday. Wanted to try the outlet in Jewel but were fully booked. Great decision to come here instead. They were kind enough to arrange a small candle on the tiramisu we ordered. Cheers guys!
Was here 3 years ago and I had a much better experience. Food this time was still ok, but not mind blown. Was looking forward to the pizzas but the dough was a little bland, despite the good texture. Pretty pricey overall, especially the starters. The bruschetta we couldn't finish as it got slightly boring quick. The crab and the squid ink pasta were the ones that stood out.
