Stop by for some sandwiches and soups that warms the soul! The tomato soup was flavourful and not watery at all. Lick-the-bowl-clean worthy πŸ’― The grilled cheese sandwich was addictive to eat - there's some magic in the white bread used, which paired well with the melty cheese. They give a generous portion of smoked salmon and scrambled eggs. The boss lady was very friendly and had checked in with us while we were eating. Head straight to B3 to visit this hidden gem! There isn't much seating space and it can get kind of cramped so go early.

This place is a little gem tucked away in the dingy basement of an obscure building, but the food and service more than make up for the ambiance. I had the turkey ham and cheese on focaccia, and a sourdough garlic knot. Both items came fresh out the oven after a short wait. Focaccia was toasted to a perfect golden-brown on the outside, helped by a good drizzle of olive oil, while the inside stayed pillowy soft. The ham was nothing to shout about, though the generous helping of cheddar cheese added a nice savouriness. I'd recommend getting the tomato soup for dipping to cut through the richness of the sandwich, or maybe adding sliced tomatoes. Garlic knot was a tad dense for my liking, but the garlic butter topping was sufficiently aromatic and robust. The lady running the place was a real trooper - taking orders, serving food, and checking on her crew ALL WHILST carrying her baby in a carrier (at one point she was even bottle-feeding her kid while tending to patrons 🀯). I also thought it was cool that she asked every guest what they thought about the food. This is a place that clearly thinks about the customer – just look at how they've sliced their bread to make dipping into soups easier. I don't typically write reviews, but here are a few paragraphs for a sandwich I ate. Tells you what I think of the place. Artisanal food at accessible prices, served with sincerity – these are the businesses we should be supporting.

Located at Basement 3. The food, ambience and service is great. Do order their toast because the bread is great. Seats are along the corridor and there were quite a number of people even on a random wednesday. Would recommend this place if you are looking for a nice cute little place to chill

Yummy and affordable! It was a dodgy n scary walk to the place but i promise it's worth it! The toast n sourdough are perfect and the tomato soup is sooo tangy which i love. The staff r nice too. By like 12.30 seats r limited but movement is fast. Best find in upper Thomson first time in that area.

β˜…β˜…β˜…β˜…β˜… β˜…β˜…β˜…β˜…β˜… 10 stars Cottage at Thompson V2 is an absolute hidden jewel tucked away on the lower levels of the building β€” and what a find it is. From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with warmth and kindness, especially from Anne, the main hostess/manager, who makes you feel genuinely welcome and valued. I’ve had their breads, and they are nothing short of artisanal perfection. The flavors are amazing, the texture is tender and rich on the inside, and the crust is beautifully crisp and golden on the outside β€” honestly rivaling Enny Premier Bakery. You can taste the care and craft in every bite. The sandwiches are perfectly grilled and have that classic, satisfying American flavor β€” hearty, balanced, and deeply comforting. And the soups? Absolutely delicious. The tomato soup in particular is wonderful β€” rich, smooth, and full of flavor. It pairs beautifully with their breads. The prices are extremely reasonable, especially considering the quality, and the service is impressively quick without ever feeling rushed. I highly recommend Cottage at Thompson V2 to anyone looking for quality food, great value, and warm hospitality. This place is a true gem, and I will certainly be back.
