I went for the weekday set lunch at $25+. Super worth it and taste great. This was the best French onion soup I have eaten out of all the French places I have gone to. The cheese is just nice and melts in your mouth and the soup tastes superb. The mushroom pasta was good and not oily - only thing I wished was that the main had an option that was not beef and not vegetarian. But all good still. I ate the crepe and it was oh my goodness yummy! What was also good was that you only need to add $10 to top up a glass of wine and they didn’t serve you any random house wine. You can pick from their wine menu for the wine served in glass. :))) Lovely experience and it was a worthwhile visit.
Food wasn’t great at all. 2 stars cause the French onion soup was passable and the bread was nice. Escargots tasted cheap. Jack’s place ones taste better. The worst was the steak. The steak was medium though we asked for medium rare. The quality of the steak wasn’t great to begin with. It was relatively tough and tasted cheap. I think you could get your money’s worth at isteak for $38. Lastly we had the crepe for dessert. You had to pay $5 for it to be flambé. We didn’t and perhaps because of that, we were left with a very bland crepe. We didn’t finish it to save the calories. 2 stars for the service cause the staff were friendly but that’s about it. The waiter asked our feedback for the food and I told him that the steak was medium instead of medium rare. The waiter then told his manager, who simply didn’t do anything. Tbh I wasn’t expecting anything in return but why ask if you ain’t gonna do anything about it. With that said, 4 stars for atmosphere cause it was a lovely place to dine and the decor is pleasant to the eye. However, this will be my first and last time there. With so many options in that area, I wouldn’t dine there again even if the neighbouring restaurants are full.
Had a lovely lunch! Madelyn provided amazing service and made us feel very welcome. The set menu is a great deal. It would be perfect if the food came out a little faster, but we’ll definitely be returning soon. Thanks again!
We had the three-course lunch set, which was delicious and very reasonably priced at $25. What really stood out, however, was the excellent service provided by Chona, who was incredibly attentive throughout our meal. The weather was extremely hot today, and she made sure our glasses were constantly topped up with ice water, even providing extra ice cubes to help us stay cool. She also thoughtfully offered to move us to a cooler table so that we could dine more comfortably. Highly recommended and would definitely look forward to coming back again!
The authentic French onion soup was OK for me. The ribeye steak was also OK for its price (not too pricy) as the beef hadn't been dry brined properly, judging from its crust and colour. The crepe was just nice with the right flavour profiles, but with other condiments such as Vanilla cream or ice cream, it would have been better. Ton conclude, as a cafe-liked restaurant, Chez Suzette is nice and reasonable.
