Waited 5 months for them to reopen, authentic old school restaurant by the beach. Great food, our favourites are their hor fun, must eat together with their sambal chilli, best garlic kailan and sambal lala. Always our go to place when we visit Ubin.

Local, good vibes with friendly owners. The standout dish was definitely the black pepper beef – tender, juicy, and full of flavour πŸ˜‹. The green veggies were average, and the tempura oysters took a long time to arrive and didn’t quite live up to expectations. Stick with the beef – it’s worth coming back for.

When we went to this restaurant, it's second time we've been to Ubin Island. Our youngest son loves to go there. I chose this restaurant cause it looks good and it was! I love the food! Although my kid and husband said a bit salty but I love it! The owner is friendly and helpful. He explained the portion we should take. The menu is variative, and the price is good also. Must try! Don't miss it!

Pulau Ubin is a quick 15mins by ferry from Changi Village. This kampong style restaurant serves the freshest seafood for the day from fishermen who harvested overnight. Flower crabs and fried baby squid are must haves (if they are available). As well as the red legged β€œangka” prawns which are caught in the area. JY is the owner who will recommend the freshest available ingredients. Simple home cooked fare that is a delight. Don’t expect air conditioned comfort but enjoy the chill atmosphere, sea breeze and comfort food. Time has stood still for this quaint little island and restaurant and I’m glad it has.

Didn’t managed to take much photo of the food as we were rushing to eat before the houseflies attacks. Fish and prawns fresh. Eggs and vege normal. Our oyster lettuce tastes like garlic stir fry. Deep fried kumpung chicken still has blood that stained the plate (not only when we cut opened). When we approach the staff, they deep fried the remaining pieces again and changed a clean plate. The resident dogs are cute and doesn’t bark or bite. It’s by the coast so is windy. Houseflies is normal for an outdoor establishment so just need to bear with it. Very good experience for kids as they have never eat at a kumpung style zi char before.
