Big Fish Small Fish Cafe (Hillion Mall)

Just had lunch at this joint and I must admit the food was pretty good. Of course, there were little bright sparks, like the free flow dips, water, and crisps. Just after sitting down, we were presented with the crisps which were good, but guess msg was high, this we had to keep getting the free flow of water. The server was also really attentive, besides giving us the crisps, he also explained to us on the ordering process etc. Food wise, the taste of the food was good in my opinion and family all liked the pilaf rice. However, gripes would be that the rice was tad bit less and that the fish, though it look big was full of dough. But the spiciniess of the powder they sprinkled gave it a good kick and of course, the various sauces, such as sriracha mayo enhanced the food. Definitely a joint we would go back too, and on weekdays, lagi better would be the weekday set deals.

Craving for fish and chips so googled to find one near my place and this popped out. Excited I am, here I came. On my way, I was looking through their online menu and saw that they offered halibut for F&C. Here's what I had ordered: 1. Halibut F&C with their signature batter & spicy aglio olio - plating was decent - portion size was good for 2 small eaters to share - quality of fish was present - however batter was disappointing. It wasnt light and crispy, instead it was just flat when put into mouth and some parts of batter as if didnt cook well. Was able to taste the doughy-ness - spaghetti at least is al-dente but it was little too spicy for me 2. Chicken chop with fries - portion was decent - fries were tasty and had their crisp - chicken was tender 3. Caesar Salad - not the least authentic as had purple onions,cherry tomatoes and an egg - missing croutons - hand too heavy on the dressing that overkilled and the dressing tasted more of sourness than tangy. Didnt taste quite there. - parmasean cheese can be little more - looking for light protein dish, maybe this or can order their chicken caesar. Currently restaurant is having complimentary free flow crisp which are good - light and crispy. Sauces and free ice water are self-service!

It was definitely a pleasant dining experience. The lady with the ponytail was very nice and attentive to our requests. Come here for good food, and another thing worth mentioning, is that they have great lunch & student deals too!

Ordered battered Dori and Halibut and Chips. Quire big portion of fish, with the flour not too thick. Currently had promotion of unlimited chips with sets ordered. We had 2 generous portions of extra chips. Free glow water and 4 types of sauces. Overall worth, reasonable price for portion. Extra discounts with Grab Tuesday Dine out promotions.

I was served by the manager himself, and he was truly outstanding. He handled a service recovery with so much empathy and professionalism that it left a strong impression on me. I didn’t manage to get his name, but I genuinely appreciated his care and attention. Thanks to him, I ended up having a wonderful meal.
