Really cool venue. Even thought it’s near the main road it’s blocked off by a garden wall. The staff are awesome - fast and friendly!! Options for food are great! They do curries, Thai and pizza. 3 different menus to choose from. A really nice place to come with friends with kids. Highly recommend. Recommend reservation if on busy night like a Friday, or if coming with a large group.
Naan (SGD $9) @ Bar Bar Black Sheep. . With 3 independent kitchens, including a North Indian focused kitchen, this watering hole is a relaxed night-time dining spot. . Their rendition is soft fluffy chewy in texture, tearing apart easily. While the plain version exudes smoky bready sweet savoury flavour, the garlic version studded with minced garlic and fresh coriander exudes smoky bready savoury vegetal bitter herbal spice flavour.
This is a nice, casual neighbourhood gastropub for residents staying in Bukit Timah Road area. It is equally well patronised by diners from further away. Its open-air premises has a rustic atmosphere, with dining tables and high tables. Adults and children are welcomed here. A variety of cuisines is offered to accompany beers, homemade lemonade and drinks. As credit cards of customers are held by the operator, we felt more comfortable to pay as we ordered to avoid unnecessary hassle of disputed charges.
Decent option for casual drinks and it has a reasonable range of tap beers. The seating is all covered but it's open plan and semi-outdoors (ie, no walls). That's ok though because the location is set back from the main road so it doesn't get too much traffic noise and ends up with a nice breeze. The food is from a separate (but connected) Indian kitchen and is good but it's a little annoying you can't just order it all at once with the drinks. Fun, relaxed place for a beer.
(The Indian chef who made this great food is gone and so is the quality, likely same with Thai - very sad)) Can’t go wrong any night of the week. Perfect Indian fare, burgers for kids, and authentic Thai... all of it with perfect pint of Carlsberg or whatever beer you have in mind including some choice IPAs.
