The seafood is quite fresh but the stingray is just too burnt in the base. It’s black burnt. The control of heat in cooking doesn’t seem so professional. Didn’t like that it was served on styrofoam plates. It’s actually not so healthy for the hot bbq to be placed onto styrofoam plates. The other food like sambal kangkong, bbq squid all taste as they should. Not any wow but it’s not bad. Portions are so so for the price. I guess you can eat it if you’re in the vicinity but don’t have to travel for it. The coffee shop also on & off black out, no fan on, no lights. It’s quite “hot & romantic” as you eat in the heat and darkness.
i’m here for one thing mainly and it’s the raw prawns! they’re super fresh and i love it, spicy. sour and garlicky. i’ve been here at least 4-5x already just for the prawns :”) lady boss is always super sweet and friendly!
Went there to try the raw seafood for the first time raw prawns taste good with a nice level of spice. After that I tried the 2nd time the spice level dropped. Spring roll and the deep fried fish is one of my favorites. Overall the food is nice
Quite some time since I ate this Ah jie stall. I could say the stingray and other dishes the taste is better than many other stalls. Tabao back the food this round and the food still tasted nice.
Tried the stir-fry sambal sotong ($12). Portion wise, it was decent (abt 8 pieces of sotong), and the sambal had a nice spicy kick , but overall the dish lacked depth in flavour. Some pieces of sotong were slightly undercook and some were too chewy. It wasn’t bad, but nothing particularly great either. Still a decent option but I’d probably try something else next time.
