First time trying A Hot Hideout at Kinex, and I can see why there’s always a long queue whenever I walk past. Finally gave it a try and it didn’t disappoint. Ordering was quite straightforward with clear step-by-step instructions, so it was easy even for first-timers. We ordered the dry mala and tomato broth. The mala was nicely flavoured and not too overpowering, which I liked. The tomato soup was rich and flavourful, not the bland kind. Adding toppings like scrambled egg really made a difference and enhanced both dishes. The green Thai milk tea was also not very sweet, which was a plus and paired well with the meal. The highlight for me was the fried lotus root—super crispy and went really well with the dry mala and scrambled egg combo. Overall, a very satisfying meal and a good experience. Will definitely come back again.
Mala xiang guo restaurant located in 1st floor of kinex mall. Food: Delicious. Had not had a delicious tasting mala xiang guo in a along time. The ingredients don't taste wet and boiled like the other stalls you find in hawker center and food court. It's dry and mala flavoured well mixed in. Topped with creamy scrambled egg, the texture of the well cooked instant noodle and chewy potato noodle makes me not want to stop eating. The lotus root and potato were sliced and fried. Its a good combo to dip the fried item in their secret powder. Service: Staff was very prompt to help with the ordering process which is not complicated. Food was also served quickly. Atmosphere: Air conditioned with lots of seating. Place was also clean and tidy. Only feedback I have is for the lotus root and potato to be sliced to small portions. They are huge for a 1 person portion.
Food was great. Had the mala collagen soup (medium spicy) it was “ma” 麻 and “la” 辣, not jus the overpowering spiciness. Iced tea was also very good. The cost depends on the amount of ingredients you pick. Service given 4⭐️ because everything was self-serve and collect. But the staff was helpful for me, a first timer.
Best and comfy atmosphere. The space is spacious. The staff is always ready to help even with self check out. My most preferred dine in place. Food has good wok hey.... and free flow of special sauce, peanut, spring onion, coriander and fragrant powder. The service stands out with good cleanliness.
I would like to start on complimenting the staffs! They are very nice and accommodating! They give the service that you need over and beyond. And the place is so clean, organise and tidy! FOOD WAS HEAVEN TO ME! I tried the collagen soup and it’s very comforting! I don’t usually get to taste this kind of soup in other places here in SG. Definitely this is now my go to now ! The mantou was perfectly cooked . The crunch and softness even it’s not hot anymore was still there! . HOPE THEY GET TO THE SINGAPORE BEST FOOD. Also the price is not so bad ! It’s good and it won’t break your bank!
