Before Mr Lim I was barely scraping an S for H2 Math and not feeling great about it. By the time A Levels came around I walked away with an A, and his lessons were a huge part of why. What I loved most about Mr Lim was how genuinely fun his classes were. Math can feel really dry and stressful, but he had this energy that made lessons something I actually looked forward to. One thing that stuck with me was how he would give incentives for getting answers right during class. It sounds like a small thing but it made everyone so much more engaged, and honestly a little competitive in the best way. It made topics like permutations and combinations, which I used to dread, feel way more enjoyable to work through. He was also incredibly approachable. I never once felt awkward asking a question or admitting I had no idea what was going on. With vectors especially, which was a topic I really struggled with, he was so patient in breaking things down and made sure I actually got it before moving on. Going from an S to an A was something I genuinely did not think was on the cards for me. Mr Lim made me believe it was possible, and then helped me get there. Really grateful for that.

I think that Mr Lim is an extremely excellent teacher, not only in his mastery over math, but his attitude and personality wise as well. He always seems very excited to be imparting knowledge to us and would occasionally share fun facts about math to us as he teaches (i.e what the most beautiful formula is) and adds in his own commentary (life stories, stories from ppl he knows, etc.), all of which keep the lessons very fun and engaging. He is also very accommodating as during break times, he provides us hot towels (which are essential because the classroom is always freezing) and even pushes the snack trolley to us 😭😭 I also really like that he stays realistic about expectations and results, as well as giving us some advice/insight about our future paths. He is also incredibly informed about the A level + school WA/prelim questions, like for example if he sees a question that has a similar version of it in the TYS, he can almost immediately identify which year it is from which is quite incredible. Also, I think that he should receive credit for allowing me to consistently achieve As for my WAs. However... I am a student who is quite susceptible to stress so for longer exams I tend to blank out and do very badly (E for both promos and prelims :() but for A levels I managed to score a B so hurray!! If you want some insight into how his lessons are conducted, for every new chapter he: 1. Goes through the content knowledge/theory + some questions to familiarise ourselves with it 2. Lets us practice some questions on our own before going through it with us Sometimes, he mixes it up by letting us spin a wheel of prizes if we get a certain amount of questions correct or gives us tests to consolidate our knowledge on the topic, so you'd never find the lessons too repetitive or monotonous. Additionally, he also collects data about our results on these tests and lets us see how our marks fluctuate with each topic while also letting us compare them with the average mark in the class, which is a plus point. Towards the A levels, he also switches up the lesson format to be more targeted and intense so as to adequately prepare us for the As. Of course, he is always available if we have any questions. TLDR: If you are looking for a tuition service that is able to offer both width and depth into math topics, then look no further! Basically, Mr Lim is the type of teacher who every student wishes they had: dedicated, fun, and skilled at teaching :)

Mr Lim is a dedicated and approachable teacher :) Despite the heavy workload in JC, I often found myself not dreading tuition classes every weekend due to his engaging lessons. His focused practices and concise teaching methods ensured that we were exam-ready in the short preparation time for the A-level H2 Math examinations. In addition, Mr Lim’s friendly and welcoming demeanour motivated his students and made sure that we were never afraid to clarify our doubts or ask him questions. Overall, I would definitely recommend Mr Lim’s tuition as my good results in H2 Math would not have been possible without him!

Mr Lim is the best math tutor you can ask for. He is someone with great passion for his occupation as well as a caring and responsible personality. Don’t hesitate.

Mr Chu is quite an engaging and funny teacher, who helped me maintain my interest in math even when my grades were hardstuck at C/D and deepened my understanding in the subject with his easy to understand explanations. He is also very willing to answer any questions we have after class and offer advice on how to improve if u ask. My math grades went from C to a comfortable A by the time it was A levels, which was quite chill cos of the hard questions he had prepared us for. overall I have no regrets cos it was fun and I feel more confident in my math abilities to take a math heavy course in uni :D
