Our house was designed and supervised by them, and it's been six months since we moved in. We're living very comfortably, so I thought I'd write a review. When we moved from the Tokyo metropolitan area to the cold region of Shinshu, we found Eiken Sekkei based on the keywords "highly airtight and highly insulated" and "familiarity with the climate and land of Shinshu." From our first meeting, it was clear that they placed importance on the concept of how we wanted to live. We only had a vague idea of what we wanted, but they responded calmly and helped us solidify a shared vision. The way they kept detailed minutes of each meeting was very reassuring. Even after the design began, they clearly explained how they would approach the design, what they proposed, and what we, the clients, had to decide, so we never had any trouble. Their proposals were often thorough and exceeded our expectations, and it's now a laughing matter that the design period was extended due to an increase in our requests. (Apologies for the inconvenience...) During construction, you repeatedly sent us photos of your on-site inspections as a supervisor and reported on any improper workmanship changes you made. Even though we lived far away, we had no worries. More than the benefit of a lower price, we were excited about the open system because it allowed us to meet the craftsmen face-to-face and make a contract. We were unfamiliar with the area, so we're really happy to have found a team of local professionals, and we feel reassured that we can consult with them immediately if any issues arise in the future. We moved in in December, when temperatures dropped below -10°C late at night. From the moment we entered the room, we could feel the gentle air and temperature, which was clearly different from the outside. Although we were unfamiliar with the stove, we lit it and the living room turned out even more beautiful than we'd imagined, and the whole family was thrilled. We turned it off before going to bed, but the warmth continued until morning. We were truly impressed by this state-of-the-art, highly airtight, and insulated house and the skill of the craftsmen who built it. Six months have passed since then, and we're now in early summer. I'm really looking forward to seeing what kind of life this house will support in the height of summer. If you're still looking for an architectural firm, I recommend contacting Eiwa Sekkei. I'm sure they'll be your partner in supporting you as you start your new life in your new home.

It's already been a month since we took possession of our new home. We're enjoying it very much. Our encounter with Ei Design was about two years ago. Although we had decided to build a house, we had no knowledge about home construction. While visiting model homes and researching local builders online, we learned about Ei Design. Ei Design holds not only open house events but also workshops and tours for home building. We immediately attended their most recent workshop and requested an individual consultation shortly after. At that point, we had several builders in mind, but the biggest reason we chose Ei Design was their response during our initial consultation. Despite it being our first meeting, they answered our questions accurately and specifically, making us feel confident in consulting with them, and we made an immediate decision. We were also very grateful for their advice on purchasing land for the first time and avoiding disputes with neighbors. Once we started discussing specific details such as floor plans and equipment, they listened attentively to our requests and fulfilled "almost" all of them. When I say "almost everything," I mean that they didn't just accept every request with a simple "yes, yes," but also patiently explained what was impossible from a design perspective and pointed out potential problems from a professional standpoint, which made us reconsider several things. I think this is the biggest advantage of being able to talk directly with the designers. Because we had so many requests, it took longer than expected, but we were able to carefully consider everything and build a home that we were satisfied with and have no regrets about. Since we lived very close to our new home, we visited the construction site almost every day during construction. We were able to talk with the craftsmen and carefully observe the process of the house being built, which was very enjoyable. Every time something happened, my husband and I would say to each other, "We're so glad we chose Ei Design." For those who think that high performance is a given for modern homes, but aren't satisfied with just that, I highly recommend Ei Design. We will be relying on Ei Design for future home inspections and maintenance. Thank you in advance.

I'm an elderly person living alone, and this year I had a home built that perfectly suits my lifestyle! October 2024 **Encounters and Learning** Unable to decide what to do next, I saw a newspaper ad for a viewing of a completed single-story house and immediately booked and attended. It was a cold winter, but as I walked through the somewhat heavy entrance, I was enveloped in a warm atmosphere. This was my first encounter with Hide. The house, which evoked a sense of nature, impressed me with its hallway-free floor plan, easy-to-follow flow even for children, and built-in furniture and design that were thoughtfully designed with the user in mind. I subsequently attended several viewings and learned the ins and outs of what it means to build a house. I learned that Hide not only focused on insulation and earthquake resistance, but also on energy conservation and environmental considerations (e.g., using environmentally friendly materials even in the event of demolition). **Concept Consultation** During the consultation, I was given the task of completing a concept map. I was confused, but it was a great opportunity to think about my retirement life. I asked for a small house that would be easy to clean and comfortable for an elderly person living alone. I wrote a lot of selfish ideas in the concept map, but now that it's complete, I can see that they were able to effectively organize what was possible, what was pointless, and alternative methods during the design phase. **Design and Budget Adjustment** I visited their office 20 times for meetings leading up to the groundbreaking ceremony. During these meetings, they quickly illustrated the concepts and explanations I'd communicated verbally, clearly presented data-based comparisons, and explained complex technical terms in a way that was easy to understand even for a layman. And most importantly, I really appreciated the handwritten minutes they kept as the meeting progressed. Even though the topics discussed were unfamiliar to me, I often found myself understanding them at the time, but then forgetting them over time. Being able to review them later was extremely helpful. The proposals they presented at each meeting were always convincing, and I could sense the wealth of knowledge they had gained from their extensive experience and constant information gathering. **Construction Begins** At the contract meeting following the groundbreaking ceremony, the contractors gathered together to discuss schedules, important points to note, and answer questions. I felt a sense of responsibility, knowing that I was also a part of building a home. After that, I frequently visited the site and got to see the craftsmen's meticulous skills up close. The foundation work, which was dependent on the weather, and the construction process, which required heavy machinery due to the limited space, caused inconvenience. However, the craftsmen's teamwork was incredible, working hand in hand. The concrete, interior wall painting, and detailed assembly techniques were breathtakingly tense. **Complete** My vague image was skillfully captured and turned into sketches, blueprints, and models, and then the finished product was finally ready for me to live in. The excitement is still lingering, and I still feel like I'm dreaming. Unique walls and shelves, a raised dirt floor, and a unique, elderly-friendly bathroom—my life alone can often be dark, but the craftsmanship and design, carefully crafted with the elderly in mind, are soothing. This home construction project began with the desire to create a small home that would protect from the wind and rain, and I'm truly glad I asked Hide to help. Thank you, Team Hide. Thank you for your continued maintenance. **********One year has passed since then, Winter 2025*********** I opened Ei Sekkei's website. Since this house was built, new, beautiful homes have been steadily built. There are 13 of them, including those under construction! (This does not include those under design.) No matter which house you look at, no two are exactly alike; they are filled with the lifestyles and personalities of their residents. Each house's progress is also documented, making it a joy to browse. Not only does Ei Sekkei's website provide information on their work, but it's also packed with important information you need to know. I think it's a must-see for anyone considering building or renovating, or for how to live in a new home. Over the past year, I've... I've spent a lot of time in the garden, tinkering with the soil 🪴 and interacting with the plants, while also listening to a lot of music. And I've been touched by Aoi Teshima's gentle voice. 🎶A house overflowing with clear light A home where freedom and a future await me🏠 🎶No matter what happens, A place I can trust more than anywhere else in the world🪑 🎶It will never change My favorite place in the world🍀 (From "My Home" by Aoi Teshima) I can't help but nod along to these lyrics. The past year has flown by. Even with such meticulous planning, unexpected problems can occur. A large, sturdy board from a built-in piece of furniture warped and was fighting with the wall. The power of nature is truly amazing. Even so, Team Hide was not only surprised, saying, "This is the first time we've ever seen something like this!", but also took care of it (replacing and refitting it). I'm sure it was a very difficult job, but I'm grateful that they fixed it so beautifully. No matter what happens, we'll be fine. It truly made me realize that!

I recently received the keys to my new home. Everyone has commented so passionately and in such detail, and I agree with almost everything they've said. I think everyone who builds a house with Ei-san becomes a fan of his. When I moved to cold Nagano, I was looking for a builder who could properly construct a house with high airtightness, high insulation (G2), and seismic resistance level 3, and I found Ei-san. After our initial meeting, he accompanied me from the land selection stage. If I had chosen the land on my own, I might have overlooked its flaws and purchased it, but he pointed them out to me, allowing me to avoid that. During the subsequent design meetings, he fully understood what I wanted and materialized it into a wonderful design that exceeded my expectations. I had tons of questions before each meeting, but he always answered them accurately and clearly. He also pointed out what couldn't be done and what shouldn't be done. Even though he pointed out the disadvantages, I was able to adopt something I really wanted (wall material) with his full understanding. However, because he informed me beforehand, I'm satisfied with the finished product, including the drawbacks. During construction, I was present for an airtightness test conducted by an external contractor. They commented, "We rarely see such good numbers," which made me feel like I was being praised, and I was very happy. The many contractors familiar to Mr. Ei, gathered under the open system, were all sincere and pleasant people, which gave me a great sense of security. Furthermore, throughout the construction process, Mr. Ei himself meticulously checked the site with the eye of an inspector, so I felt completely at ease, watching the process unfold. Of course, the house boasts high airtightness, high insulation, and seismic resistance ratings, but my detailed preferences and ideas, such as the niche work and custom-made joinery, were also carefully designed and constructed. I am extremely satisfied with the overall finish, including the design and usability. In a word, building a house with Mr. Ei was "fun!" Rather than the stress and weariness of dealing with a home builder, I believe it's far more rewarding to build a house with Mr. Ei, a trustworthy (←this is important) first-class architect who works alongside you from start to finish. I highly recommend him. Addendum 1: Through this house-building project, I realized that residential construction technology is constantly evolving. Mr. Ei continued his studies diligently despite his busy schedule, which instilled confidence in me. It's obvious which doctor you'd rather see – one who stops studying or one who continues. I think the same applies to architects. Addendum 2: Having experienced my first winter in the house, I'd like to add my impressions. In short, it was extremely comfortable. When the outside temperature was -6 or -7 degrees Celsius, the average temperature dropped by about 4 degrees between the time I turned off the heating at night and morning. This means that if I raised the temperature to 22 degrees Celsius at night and then turned it off, it was around 18 degrees Celsius in the morning. Even getting up to go to the bathroom in the early morning wasn't cold at all. When the outside temperature was around -10 degrees Celsius, the temperature dropped by about 5 degrees. And during the day, the temperature hardly dropped until evening. I moved from a Tokyo apartment to a house built in a high-altitude area of Shinshu, and it was a pleasant surprise that it's so much warmer and more comfortable than my Tokyo apartment.

When we built our new home, we entrusted everything from finding land to design and construction to Ei Design. We were introduced to them by an acquaintance, and now that our house is complete, we truly feel that we made the right choice in choosing Ei Design. We felt their genuine commitment to supporting their clients through every little detail. Their meticulous attention to detail and uncompromising work instilled a sense of security and professionalism. All the contractors were friendly and easy to talk to, and we felt the strong camaraderie and established trust within Team Ei. Building a house is not something you experience often in your life. Even if you have a vague image of the kind of house you want to build, faithfully recreating that image is incredibly difficult. Ei Design will surely not disappoint your expectations. If you're unsure, I think it's a good idea to at least consult with them.
