The foundation work, which was dependent on the weather, and the construction process, which required heavy machinery due to the limited space, caused inconvenience. However, the craftsmen's teamwork was incredible, working hand in hand. The power of nature is truly amazing. I recently received the keys to my new home. Everyone has commented so passionately and in such detail, and I agree with almost everything they've said. I think everyone who builds a house with Ei-san becomes a fan of his. When I moved to cold Nagano, I was looking for a builder who could properly construct a house with high airtightness, high insulation (G2), and seismic resistance level 3, and I found Ei-san. After our initial meeting, he accompanied me from the land selection stage. If I had chosen the land on my own, I might have overlooked its flaws and purchased it, but he pointed them out to me, allowing me to avoid that. During the subsequent design meetings, he fully understood what I wanted and materialized it into a wonderful design that exceeded my expectations. I had tons of questions before each meeting, but he always answered them accurately and clearly. He also pointed out what couldn't be done and what shouldn't be done. Even though he pointed out the disadvantages, I was able to adopt something I really wanted (wall material) with his full understanding. However, because he informed me beforehand, I'm satisfied with the finished product, including the drawbacks. During construction, I was present for an airtightness test conducted by an external contractor. They commented, "We rarely see such good numbers," which made me feel like I was being praised, and I was very happy. The many contractors familiar to Mr. Ei, gathered under the open system, were all sincere and pleasant people, which gave me a great sense of security. Furthermore, throughout the construction process, Mr. Ei himself meticulously checked the site with the eye of an inspector, so I felt completely at ease, watching the process unfold. Of course, the house boasts high airtightness, high insulation, and seismic resistance ratings, but my detailed preferences and ideas, such as the niche work and custom-made joinery, were also carefully designed and constructed. I am extremely satisfied with the overall finish, including the design and usability. In a word, building a house with Mr. Ei was "fun!" Rather than the stress and weariness of dealing with a home builder, I believe it's far more rewarding to build a house with Mr. Ei, a trustworthy (←this is important) first-class architect who works alongside you from start to finish. I highly recommend him. Addendum 1: Through this house-building project, I realized that residential construction technology is constantly evolving. Mr. Ei continued his studies diligently despite his busy schedule, which instilled confidence in me. It's obvious which doctor you'd rather see – one who stops studying or one who continues. I think the same applies to architects. Addendum 2: Having experienced my first winter in the house, I'd like to add my impressions. In short, it was extremely comfortable. When the outside temperature was -6 or -7 degrees Celsius, the average temperature dropped by about 4 degrees between the time I turned off the heating at night and morning. This means that if I raised the temperature to 22 degrees Celsius at night and then turned it off, it was around 18 degrees Celsius in the morning. Even getting up to go to the bathroom in the early morning wasn't cold at all. When the outside temperature was around -10 degrees Celsius, the temperature dropped by about 5 degrees. And during the day, the temperature hardly dropped until evening. I moved from a Tokyo apartment to a house built in a high-altitude area of ​​Shinshu, and it was a pleasant surprise that it's so much warmer and more comfortable than my Tokyo apartment.
