Yodobashi Camera Multimedia Kichijoji Store

Great staff! And a great collection of electronics, accessories, stationery, and much more. I bought my DJI Osmo 5 pro (adventure pack) and got a really nice deal. The staff was super helpful and courteous. If you are looking to go to a yadobashi store with fewer crowd, go here!

The genre of the electronic devices and goods is really incredible and astonishing. And the service of the staff is really good, nice and chill. If let me rank, I would say this is one of the best shopping place in Tokyo!

I bought an Apple Pencil (USB-C) at this store. Before purchasing, the staff checked my iPad model and suggested two options: the Lightning version and the USB-C version. Since I did not have many advanced needs, I decided to buy the USB-C model. Unfortunately, I was not given a chance to test the connection before purchasing. I also admit that I did not double-check compatibility myself and made the purchase based on the staff’s recommendation. When I was paying, I asked the staff what I should do if the Pencil could not connect to my iPad. They told me to bring it to the nearest store in Shinjuku if there was any issue. After returning home and opening the box, I found that the Apple Pencil could not connect to my iPad. I was very disappointed, but I followed their advice and went to the Shinjuku store the same night, which took about 40 minutes by train. By that time, I was already very tired. At the Shinjuku store, I explained that I had purchased the Pencil at Kichijoji and asked if I could return it because it did not connect. However, the staff told me that returns were not possible once the box had been opened. I found this unreasonable, because it is impossible to check whether the product works without opening the box. The staff did kindly test the Pencil on another device and confirmed that the product itself was not defective. They then concluded that the issue was with my iPad and advised me to update it to the latest version. However, they still refused a return. Even after updating and completely resetting my iPad, the Apple Pencil still would not connect. I feel frustrated because I trusted the staff’s recommendation and believed that this product would work with my iPad, but it did not. This experience was very disappointing. Perhaps this is a lesson learned, but due to this experience, I do not think I will visit this store again.

Visited before Ghibli museum. Many board games could be found here, more than Ahihabara. Also, much cheaper!

Tried to purchase a Tamagotchi Paradise but the staff at the counter said that I need a point card/membership card to be able to purchase it. When asked for the reason, he raised his tone and just insisted that I couldn't purchase it. Decided to go to the Shinjuku Yodobashi branch to search for it and had no issues purchasing it at that branch instead. Would suggest foreigners to avoid Kichijoji's Yodobashi as staffs here aren't friendly at all.
