It's always a challenge to find vegan/vegetarian food in South Korea, and I chanced upon this vibrant vegan restaurant with a causal American diner vibe, a place that stands out from from the rest at the Golden Street. I had the salad and plant based meatballs with fries. Serving was big! It was tasty and after a whole day of walking, I managed to finished both servings. Had a good chat with Darren after, and he could speak both fluent English and Mandarin as well! Heard the story from him and got to know that he opened a vegan restaurant to cater to foreigners as vegan food is rare in Gyeongju. Definitely a man with a big heart and multi-talented. PS. This restaurant is 100% vegan. The menu is not very large, and to be clear, it mainly focuses on vegan fried “chicken,” but everything is prepared with great care, made fresh to order, and truly delicious. It’s also the only fully vegan restaurant in the city center. The atmosphere is amazing — you instantly feel comfortable there. The server told us they host live concerts twice a month, and there’s even a record player with headphones where you can sit and listen to a curated selection of cd chosen by the restaurant. Between the kindness, the warm welcome, the quality of the food, and the overall vibe, there’s nothing to complain about. We were really happy to find this place when we didn’t even know where to eat.
This one man run restaurant serves great vegan food. Not many dishes to choose from but who cares, the ones he served were very very tasty! Friendly guy and truly recommend eating here, your taste buds will thank you!
Freshly prepared fusion food. The vegan curry was spicy and flavourful. The salad was a generous portion and very fresh. Friendly service and cosy atmosphere. Highly recommend.
Used to be a mainly vegan place so I went there hoping for that (and to try the curry that now is gone :( ) - but was surprised when we saw it had changed recently (March 26’) into a burger place. We tried it anyway and I had the vegan chicken - really good with the sweet/spicy sauce. And my partner tried the new signature burger which he really enjoyed. Sad that the veggie industry in S.Korea is a tough business but this is now a good restaurant for both omnivores and vegans to enjoy a meal together ☺️ The owner was very friendly as well. Great service.
