Had a really enjoyable meal at Yeast Side @ lyf Farrer! The café has a cosy, modern neighbourhood vibe and the staff were warm and friendly. We ordered the Truffle Fries, Crispy Mid Wings, Hold My Salami sourdough pizza, Smashed Beef Sandwich, Earl Grey Lychee Cold Brew Tea and Iced Lemon Tea. Everything was delicious, especially the pizza—it came out fresh from the oven with a chewy, flavourful sourdough crust. The mid wings were crispy and juicy, and the beef sandwich was hearty and satisfying. You can really tell they use quality ingredients and prepare everything with care. It’s a great spot to relax over good food, whether you’re stopping by for coffee, sandwiches, pizza or a craft beer.. Conveniently located just a short walk from Farrer Park MRT Exit G. Will definitely be back to try more dishes and visit their Serangoon outlet too. Highly recommended!
The pizza with 5 cheese was pretty good, with the burata anchoring the taste. The other cheese were a mixture of taste that I couldn't differentiate. Popcorn chicken was also pretty good. They stayed crispy until the end of the meal, and there wasn't much of the pieces that turned out to be only chicken skin. The baked/grilled cauliflower would have been good if it were on its own. It was let down by the lack of quantity and taste of its sauce/dressing. The place was pretty packed on a Fri evening, so it might be better to make reservations. Majority of the seating area falls within the lobby of a hotel next door, and there is synergy between the quirky/funky decor and energy of the 2 businesses.
I finally made it down to Yeast Side to see if their sourdough lived up to the hype, and I wasn't disappointed! The Highlights: Carbonara Pizza: This is a total standout. The sourdough crust has that perfect chew and 'leopard spotting' on the edges. The combination of truffle béchamel and the wobbly onsen egg in the center is pure indulgence. Highly recommend breaking the yolk and spreading it across the slice! Beef Bolognese Pizza: A great savory option if you want something heartier. The meat was flavorful and didn't make the crust soggy. Crispy Mid Wings: Don't skip the sides! These were plump, juicy, and the garlic aioli they serve with them is addictive. Smoked Salmon Salad: A fresh, vibrant balance to all the delicious carbs. Verdict: Whether you’re a sourdough purist or just looking for a cozy brunch spot with great craft beer/coffee vibes, this is a must-visit. Service was friendly and the open-kitchen concept is such a vibe
Cool space though it's a shared space with LYF hotel so it can be a lil crowded. Wasn't expecting the food to be so good. Though the Salami Pizza is great, nothing beats their special - Char‑grilled Chicken Pesto, a brilliant pesto twist. We also enjoyed the Spicy Popcorn Chicken (Sichuan spice, garlic oil, dried chilli = addictive) & Mentaiko Mac & Cheese with generous crab meat, though I wished for more cheese.
The atmosphere and food were both great. Their pizza has a thin crust and a very unique flavour , not something you can easily find elsewhere. Pizza here isn't overly seasoned or greasy and you can’t find easily for The Burrata pizza elsewhere with such well balanced cheesy and sweet taste. And the chicken wings were absolutely delicious: crispy on the outside, tender and juicy on the inside, with perfectly marinated meat. Highly recommended.
