It is a company made up of only 4 employees, one of whom is probably the founder. It is not a serious company and they do not have professionals on the team, although they have some clients in their portfolio. They say they do a lot, but in reality it is not so. In reality I think they deal more with WordPress presentation sites and have small clients for a short period of time, otherwise I would not explain what I am about to tell them. I also needed some small features in an already developed PHP web application + bug fixing and implementing the same features in the Android and iOS mobile applications with Xamarin. I had a few discussions with them on Zoom, everything seemed ok, I gave them FTP view access to see the code and analyze it to come back with an estimate of time and costs. Unfortunately, they were moving a bit slowly, and I had to go back to them to pull them to ask when they would give us a cost estimate. After almost a week from the first discussion, we spoke again, they were still evasive and couldn't tell us an exact amount, which raised another question mark for me. I left it like that, and they said they would come back in an hour with the final estimate. Obviously they didn't come back in an hour. I called them, I left them messages, no answer. A few days have passed since then and it's clear to me that they won't come back. There are 2 options: 1) either the complexity of the project overwhelmed them, which I can understand and there's no shame in it, but we prefer them to be honest so we don't waste time 2) either they were trying to screw us over, get the 30% advance of the money and then disappear
