This was a nice scenic tour with this tour operator outside of Tromsø. The tour began when we met our guide, Max, in front of the Scandic Ishavshotel by the pier at 10 am and ended when he dropped us back off at the same spot around 3 pm. We visited several beautiful scenic spots, including Stakken, Grøtfjord, Ersfjordbotn, and more. We captured plenty of great photos and videos at each location. We also enjoyed a nice little picnic stop between Grøtfjord and Ersfjordbotn. It was a pleasant half-day tour overall. However, toward the end we had a minor road accident when another van clipped the left side mirror of our van. This delayed our return to Tromsø from the originally planned 2–2:30 pm. Thankfully, it wasn’t too serious. Despite that small setback, we still had a great time. A big thank you to our guide, Max, for taking excellent care of us and capturing great photos at each stop. If you’re looking for a nice half-day tour of the fjords and landscapes around Tromsø, I highly recommend booking with Wandering Owl. It doesn’t take up your whole day, and we thoroughly enjoyed it!

An Unforgettable Aurora Experience with Wandering Owls Watching the Northern Lights in Norway with Wandering Owls has easily been one of the best travel experiences of my life. From start to finish, it felt like an adventure crafted with care, patience, and genuine passion. We were picked up from Tromsø, but since the lights weren’t visible there that evening, the journey took us all the way to the Finland border. Surprisingly, the drive itself was beautiful and enjoyable. There were 14 of us in a comfortable minibus, and what truly elevated the experience was our chauffeur and guide—both incredibly friendly, entertaining, and knowledgeable. Their energy kept the mood light and exciting throughout the journey. We stopped at a spot where the guide confidently knew the aurora would appear. Then came the waiting—quiet, hopeful, and filled with anticipation. And when the sky finally lit up, it was nothing short of unreal. No amount of photos, videos, or descriptions can truly prepare you for that moment. Seeing the Aurora dance across the sky feels like being transported into a completely different reality—humbling, magical, and deeply moving. Wandering Owls also took great care of us by serving warm soup, hot chocolate, and cookies, which were very welcome in the extreme cold. And yes, the cold is intense. The wind is sharp, icy, and relentless—so much so that even a full bodysuit couldn’t stop me from shivering. Comfort is not guaranteed, but honestly, that’s part of the adventure. If you’re someone who loves raw, once-in-a-lifetime experiences and doesn’t mind braving the elements, this is something you absolutely shouldn’t miss when visiting Norway. Wandering Owls made this dream come true, and I’d choose them again without a second thought. ⭐ Highly recommended for true adventure seekers.

Seeing the Northern Lights was our motivation for visiting Norway. This stunning natural phenomenon is not guaranteed and serves no master. But Wandering Owl were brilliant and doing everything possible to ensure we had some great memories. We were not disappointed. Our guide was the delightful Sophie, French Swiss. This was a long event, 6 hours, and Sophie, and our driver, kept us entertained and informed the whole time. Totally excellent and a personal highlight of 2026 so far (it'll take some beating!). Thank you, Sophia and the team.

I travel the world with groups, mainly from the Netherlands. We visit Mental Health Institutes that make a difference, talking innovation, creativity, humane services, peer oriented and inclusive. We visited Oslo and Tromso this time. We closed off our journey with a Chasing the Northern Lights Evening with Wandering Owl. Coen and Evgeni were our dedicated guides. Not only did we see the Northern lights, but we were given a VIP treatment/approach from these two wonderful men. They could be good health care workers for all we know. They were informed, polite, funny, inviting, caring and such nice guys. Not only did we get an amazing Northern Lights Show, but we experienced a great evening, out in the countryside. It was the best finish of our Learning Experience we could ask and wished for. Don't hesitate with booking this company. The served soup was as awesome as their organization. A special thanks for Coen and that's only because he was Dutch. Evgeni, the driver and Northern Lights Spotter, deserves the same credits!

Last night's Sophie took her remote out and delivered a spectacular show 😂 There were green dragon ribbons dancing in the sky, exploding green and purple crowns, pillars beaming from the horizon. And shooting stars, many of them! 💫 Sophie was a fantastic guide, knowledgeable, great sense of humor and clearly passionate about her job. Illiya drove us safely and both of them ensured our comfort throughout the evening. Highly recommended!
