I completed the boot camp at UpLeveled and it was the best decision I could make. Individual coaching in a small group. Excellent teachers and guest lecturers. Not just pure theory, but a full introduction to the way of working as a web developer. Great contacts to the community!

I was part of the UpLeveled bootcamp Spring ’23 cohort and it was the best decision I made to transition into a new career! Coming from being a kindergarten teacher with zero coding knowledge, I was first skeptical if I can really learn web development in just 4 months. The mentors at UpLeveled proved me wrong!! The bootcamp was challenging in many ways you can imagine and it pushed me beyond my limit but I’ve acquired skills and knowledge that I didn’t think I would in such a short period of time! I built so many exciting projects, a couple of which I’m super proud of that helped me land a job in tech 2 months later. The curriculum is well designed for beginners like myself. The prep course allowed me to understand the fundamentals of HTML, CSS and JavaScript which helped me a lot during the bootcamp! So if you’re thinking of joining the bootcamp, I can’t stress enough how important it is to really dive deep into the prep course because while the mentor was teaching the basics, I was able to understand the topic in a deeper level and make connections between what I learnt from the prep course and what the mentor was teaching which then gave me the confidence I needed for the more advanced topics. What I appreciate the most was the way that the mentors challenged me to be independent in my own learning as well as guided me when I was really stuck. I didn’t just learn how to code but I also learnt a lot of soft skills that will be beneficial in my new career as a developer. I had a great experience and I would do it all over again!! 💯

I graduated from the bootcamp in July 2023, got my first dev job offer a month later. The bootcamp is very intense and covers a wide range of technologies that I would never even think to explore had I created the road map myself. The staff is very invested in getting you where you to be which does not mean you're dragged towards the goal. The bootcamp provides a lot of learning opportunities in a setting as close to real-world development process as possible. I would recommend deciding whether you actually like coding before the bootcamp since there'll be no time for that during it. Gather as much information as you need - the staff never gets tired of questions :)

This will be a longer review, so for anyone who doesn't want to read too much: I recommend this bootcamp to everyone who is eager to work hard and change their career. If your motivation is lacking, don't take this bootcamp, because it's definitely not a course where you can just sit, listen, and then go home and relax. For me personally, it was one of the best decisions I ever made! And now for the long part: PROS: - What you will be learning: The technologies are ALWAYS, and I mean always, up to the most modern standard, which is thanks to Karl (one of the founders) and the rest of the team. I can personally vouch for this, as my current job requires the usage of almost everything I learned in the bootcamp. Also, due to my regular visits to the Upleveled headquarters and conversations with the team, I know for a fact that the tech stack used in the bootcamp is always up to date! - The Tutors: The tutors are a perfect mix of characters. You will receive honest feedback, helpful tips, and sometimes tough love where it is necessary (for example, if your designs don't look appealing (; ) . You can be sure that they take their job and your success in the bootcamp very seriously and that they strive to help you reach your goals. - The Headquarters: This is where you will be most of the time. The rooms are well-designed and perfect for coding sessions and presentations. You can also work from home if necessary. - The Projects: If done right, the projects lead you from a beginner dev to a fullstack developer that is definitely employable. The learning curve is well thought out and, if approached properly, teaches you everything you need to know as a junior dev. CONS: - The preparation time: This is just my personal opinion, but here I go. The official preparation time is at least 1 month of self-study before the bootcamp, because it is (almost) impossible to keep up with the pace with no preparation. In my opinion, that should be at least 2-3 months of intense self-study. - (Some) Guest lectures: I found some of the guest lectures a bit boring, which was a shame, because the topics themselves were really interesting. Shoutout to the core team and also Ramón Huidobro, who gave really engaging lectures (: All in all, I would give a final score of: 4.7 It really changed my outlook on my career and my life and definitely made me a happier, more tech-savvy, and secure person! (: Greetings go out to the Upleveled-Team and Good Vibes everybody (:

I participated in the Upleveled course during the fall of 2023, and it was a profoundly enriching experience. This journey went beyond just learning web programming and creating my initial real-world web projects; it provided me with essential insights into the IT job market. Additionally, I acquired skills in crafting effective resumes and mastering job applications. If you're considering a career change or looking to upgrade your skills, this bootcamp is an excellent choice. Given another opportunity, I would eagerly embrace the chance to go through this transformative experience once more. The bootcamp didn't just equip me with critical skills; it also brought a refreshing confidence and a new perspective to my professional life.
