Steve and his team have been super on top of getting our SEO going and helping with our own google page clean up and optimization! We have felt like he is genuinely invested in us and our practice and he's made us feel very safe and cared for ! The level of communication is amazing and we've felt like he's held our "virtual" hand the entire time !

I hired this developer for website support and immediately experienced issues that caused significant stress and loss of trust. During paid calls, a large portion of the time was spent talking about his own background and experiences rather than focusing on my project or concrete deliverables. When I later requested a follow-up call to clarify concerns and correct issues, my request was ignored. After his work, my website contained multiple visible UX and structural problems, including duplicated sections, repeated buttons, overlapping or misaligned text, broken mobile formatting, and general sloppy execution. The site was objectively worse after his involvement and required correction. Most concerning, I explicitly stated that certain personal and private information about me should not be placed on my website due to clear boundary and safety concerns. That request was not respected, and personal information was published publicly anyway. This occurred during a highly vulnerable period for me surrounding childbirth, which made the lack of care and respect especially distressing. Communication throughout became unclear and evasive. Items that were stated as completed or sent were not, and direct questions were not answered clearly. When I asked for direct communication to resolve these issues, I received no response. While this business has many 5-star reviews, that was not the experience I received. My experience was marked by disorganization, boundary violations, poor communication, and a lack of accountability. I expect contractors to: • Respect clearly stated boundaries • Communicate clearly and directly when issues are raised • Focus on the client’s project during paid time • Correct mistakes rather than avoid accountability Unfortunately, that was not my experience here. After I raised these concerns, the response I received was hostile and unprofessional rather than focused on resolution. I spoke in the same tone. Now I am extremely skeptical of these reviews.

I used Starting Gate for my website redesign and they were fantastic. They have clear communication with you before the project and a debrief after. They walk you through the process after so that you could continue to maintain the project on your own. I felt like a valued client throughout and would absolutely use them again.

Steve was wonderful to work with from the initial call. Also, it was a pleasure working with Ilana. She was professional, personable and responsive. In addition, the project was on time and on budget. I couldn't be any happier with Starting Gate. I highly recommend them for any web site needs.
