I visited Spago Bar & Lounge for a late lunch on a weekday, and was immediately taken by the beautifully serene ambience of the bar and lounge. The space felt incredibly comfortable, complemented by breathtaking views of Gardens by the Bay. The service was prompt and informative, with the menu being clearly explained before ordering. Meg assisted me with genuine warmth (thank you, Meg! π) For my late lunch, I started with the sashimi salad, featuring big eye tuna, yellowtail, Hokkaido scallop, myoga, ikura, shiso, and citrus ponzu. It was refreshing and vibrant, though slightly more acidic than I personally preferred for a salad of this style. Next was the selection of artisanal cheeses. As a cheese lover, I appreciated the variety offered, though the overall experience felt fairly standard, exactly what one might expect from a classic cheese selection. To finish, I had the pandan panna cotta, topped with sweet gula Melaka, citrus yuzu crumble, and crunchy hazelnut nougatine. This was the highlight of the meal, so delicately balanced, rich, and deeply satisfying in every bite! For drinks, I ordered orange juice, which was quite ordinary and straightforward. Overall, my late lunch at Spago Bar & Lounge was a pleasant and satisfying experience, set against a truly stunning view.
Fantastic view of SG skyline as well as Gardens by the Bay, to celebrate my new milestone..... Food-wise, the presentation and flavor is good, and portion adequate for the price.... Shout-out to the service staff, Mary Chigie, who did her best to accommodate our requests despite the busy atmosphere that afternoon. She did her best to keep the candle burning, in a breezy day is not easy feat..... She has made some recommendations which will open opportunities for another visit....
Cool location with great service (Lisa did a fantastic job). Our afternoon snack was delicious, as were the drinks. Unfortunately, the drinks were 80% iced, so we didn't get much of a good drink. ;) But they were tasty nonetheless. Something else we noticed was the drinks menu. Sorry, but if a drink costs 27 Singapore dollars, you could put in a bit more effort than a page that looks like it's from the year 2000, edited with WordArt, and then there's the totally pixelated logo (sorry, I just had to get that off my chest, but it doesn't affect the rating). Cheers :)
Spago Bar & Lounge, Marina Bay Sands: Good Friday turned not so Good Friday at Spago. Itβs sheer madness as itβs a busy day on a public holiday. We didnβt net good seats - these are imperative here. One end faces the pool and the other, the dramatic sweeping view of Gardens by the Bay, Marina South and the coastal waters. We were awkwardly seated at the wall, next to service station with neither of both panoramas, Iβm a very regular patron of MBS establishments β this year we did Lavo, Koma, Mott 32, etc. After Lavo in January, this really lowered the bars. I am well aware there are limited views as compared to Lavoβs strategic rooftop sweeping 360 panorama as I have been to Spago Restaurant for a fine dine. My son booked Spago Bar spot for my birthday and requested for a birthday cake for my grand 50th but service is so busy and this was forgotten. It didnβt feel good as everyone around us seem to be celebrating birthdays and had their cake blowouts. Salmon was good and I always liked this. Karaage is easy bar food and the octopus looked ugly β like a sea cucumber. Sadly, this wonβt be my top spots in MBS. #eatstylishtravelstylish
Dining at the Marina Bay Sands has been on my bucket list for so long, and Iβm glad I chose Spago to enjoy a meal! I went for the set lunch menu and it was incredible. The views from the 57th floor or unlike anything else - you can see all of Singapore as well as into Malaysia from the Terrace. Most of all the service was impeccable. My server was knowledgable and attentive - he took the time to make a conversation with me, and I learned so much about Singapore and what life was like living on the city from him Overall, I had such a fantastic experience and would definitely recommend getting a spot on the outdoor deck!
