I paid £790 for what was presented as a complete SEO service - including strategy, measurable optimisation work, and a clear plan of action. What I actually received was a single screenshot listing “top 18 keywords” and their positions. There was no breakdown of work, no explanation of what had been done, and no visibility into how the budget was spent. My emails and calls went unanswered for weeks. When I followed up - politely asking for a breakdown of the work, timeline, and next steps - the response I received was unexpectedly defensive and criticised my “tone” instead of addressing the very reasonable request for transparency. The only tangible work produced was the installation of two plugins, WP Rocket and Asset CleanUp - both of which I could have installed myself. The performance improvements he later claimed credit for were in fact completed by SiteGround (our hosting provider) and by myself, as I have a background in software engineering and personally handled the technical optimisation of the site. He had also mentioned publication fees for backlinks; payments to third-party publishers - but made no mention of charging additional personal fees. That omission only became clear later, and it felt misleading given the original £790 was supposed to cover the full SEO service. He later tried to take credit for an increase in sales, but those results we believe came from our own marketing efforts - including restocking some of our most popular items, writing technical blog posts, publishing review videos of our products on social media and improving our contact visibility. These were initiatives entirely independent of his work, and to this day, it remains unclear what specific SEO actions were actually carried out under the £790 service. This experience left me with the impression of poor communication, minimal effort, and a lack of transparency. I had reasonable expectations and asked reasonable questions - the response I received confirmed that this was not a professional engagement. I cannot recommend this service. If you value transparency, accountability, and professionalism, look elsewhere.
