Satuki Gakuen has been a wonderful school to continously expose our son to Japanese language and culture, as he attends an international school in Singapore and does not have the opportunity to formally learn Japanese. The availability of weekend classes are very helpful. The administration/ management is organized, proactive, and approachable. Class teachers are professional, knowledgeable and accommodating. We appreciate that the school places importance on ability level, rather than age, to place students. We also benefited from the free trials and an earnest assessment of which class would best fit our son. We are also impressed by the range of classes available (abacus, calligraphy, exam preparation for both Math and Japanese). We highly recommend the school.

My son has been learning for 4 years. He has been indeed enjoying not only learning Japanese and but also interacting teachers and friends, which are important for him to happily continue the class. Teachers and school staffs are very friendly and caring, we really appreciate them for taking good care of him.

My child really enjoys the Japanese classes here, they’re always full of fun! She even insists on going every week and feels sad when classes are cancelled due to holidays.

It's not for biracial children or children who cannot speak Japanese in the first place. Our son was with them since they were in Joo Chiat and decided to continue with them when they moved to River Valley, the teachers at first level were nice and responsive but the next level teacher has no idea on how to manage kids. It's a 3 hour session with only 10min break and she expects a 6 year old to sit still and focus on her lesson for 3 hours. And our child felt unencouraged because he can't speak Japanese well and could not follow the class but the teacher does not understand it at all. We spoke to the principal and apparently she only appreciates Japanese family "customers". We decided not to continue with them and they also never followed up with us. I also got to know that other biracial children have pulled out from the school with other reasons.
