Really enjoyed the fish and chips! Atmosphere is chill and relaxing, great for unwinding after a work day. I didn't order a beer but Sam gave me a glass of iced water. Playlist was retro Mandopop (Amei, Jay Chou, JJ etc.), which I like!

Found this hidden pub inside a condo near my place 🍻 Tried their Fish & Chips β€” surprisingly good and served wrapped in paper. First time here! It seems to be an OMO pub, so food takes a bit of time. The owner is… interesting πŸ˜‚ He literally dropped the whole paper-wrapped plate on my table and walked off. For a second, I was confused. Very old-school vibe with an actual smoking room inside the pub. Come here if you want a drink, don’t mind smoking indoors, and are okay with your clothes smelling a bit after πŸ˜†

I’ve been a regular here for almost a year, and it’s a true "hidden gem" tucked away within an old estate condo. It perfectly captures the vibe of a traditional British neighbourhood pub, evoking a nostalgic "chill hideout" feel that is increasingly rare in modern Singapore. The atmosphere is dimly lit and retro-cosy with classic wooden accents. It’s unpretentious and community-focused, featuring vintage pub games like pool tables, electronic darts, and card games. The food is "no-frills" but delicious and affordable. My personal favourite is the signature fish and chipsβ€”served authentically with salt, malt vinegar, and tartar sauce. Paired with a cold draught beer, it mirrors the straightforward hospitality of 1980s-90s Singaporean pubs. What truly sets this place apart from high-concept cocktail bars is the personal presence of the owner, Sam. He makes the venue feel more like a friend’s living room or a cosy cottage than a commercial business. Not surprisingly, you’ll see families and people of all ages here enjoying the relaxed vibe. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a genuine, laid-back local.

warm and nice atmosphere, $2 for 1 pool game, heard this place has been here for the past 23yrs already. Sam is friendly and nice but take note not to call him Uncle, he'll get a bit dulan for some reason and I also dk why. Fish and chips are good but not fantastic like some other comments says. spend a total of $270+ for 6pax.

Sam, owner of Sam's Cottage, is very friendly. There's pool, darts, dices, poker cards for customers to play while drinking. Draft beer is so good, very smooth and cold! πŸ€—πŸ»
