Pioneer Restaurant & Lounge | Fried Chicken

Fantastic fried chicken. The bread their chicken in a well seasoned flour and fry to order. The chicken livers were awesome too. We stopped by the other day. This is a nice no frills restaurant with a full service bar. The seating is a little tight. They have a salad bar. The soups are pleasant. The bacon mushroom swiss burger was good as well. We will return.

Cool, old spot, my first time there. I love the country feeling. I was told it was the first day under new ownership. The service was fast and friendly. The food was hot and delicious. I had the fried chicken lunch special. The restroom was clean, but the hot water seemed to not be working. I would happily eat there again.

Drove all the way from Florida to the Christmas holiday . After a 12 hour drive was wanting a nice dinner . Was we entered the building looking for a table noticed there was setting up some live music . As I approached the waitress to request a table I was received by a nasty old waitress screaming “ No tables available all are reserved. Left with such a deception of this business. Hope to meet nicer people in this town.

I wanted to like it. I like to support small businesses but there was nothing redeemable here. The food was not good. Service was slow and did not come ask how the food was or if we needed anything. Other customers nearby appeared drunk, shouting profanity and the business did nothing to quiet them. The music was loud. My 15 year old who eats everything didn't even want to eat it. I left my entire meal. $$ wasted. I do not recommend. ---- edited to add they did remove the 2 meals after seeing we didn't eat them. Maybe it was an off night for them.

Customer service and a large variety of options. Really great prices. I love little hole in the wall places. We will definitely be returning anytime were in Brookville.
